poor Overend doesn't look well there but Griff sounds great on the sticks
legend has it that Overend was the one who told Bowie they were breaking up and lead to DB offering up Suffragette city (refused!) and ATYD
had to have been an awesomely fun band and remember spinning more than a few Mott albums in the 70s
"some spade said rock and rollers...they're all the same Man that's your instrument! I felt soo ashamed"
And I look like a bum and I crawl like a snail...All the way from Memphis"

    that's a song boy!
kid has quite a voice and appreciate your eclectic taste in music
now the Shakira song...let's just say I used to spend nights listening and learning music in CR w my old flame
so I know most of her early stuff that's all en Espanol and kind of love that music
sure this is good but for me she may have passed her spoil date although she still looks incredible of course

Yeah .. BDK has the taste to be a real DJ ...not like the douchetards you see playing crap in clubs now.

Virginia & West Virginia are blowing up with new folk artists the last few years. Hootenannys are popping up on campuses in NC & KY, too. Oliver Anthony kicked it into overdrive last year with Rich Men North of Richmond and now this kid is getting play here too.

A bit harder & rockier than this siund is Whisky Myers. Theyve been around awhile. My students here got me to listen to them. Great sound out of Texas for about 15 years now ...

    Studio version...

    Live & acoustic (way better)

thank you for this since I've never seen it
my love for the artist somehow made me reticent to witness his folly of which I consider labyrinth although people love it
maybe have seen 5 total minutes and have to turn away
man who fell to earth is the exception and actually met candy clark at a backyard party of my daughters fiancees parents
she was drunk or twisted and the conversation quickly devolved so I didn't hear much about my hero
not to mention she was just chillin at a party and who the fuck am I
anyway he was funny in Zoolander and good as Warhol , that's war hole in basquait although how that kid became a famous artist escapes me completely
probably the best transition from music to film though and made jagger jealous I'm sure
anyway along those lines I heard this song tonight and it reminded me of how great Cream was and how you can't watch your wife and your outside woman too

have i told you guys the story of when a young shakira and her much fatter ass fell into my hands that one time at the pico rivera sports arena?
im sure ive mentioned it any time shakira is brought up lol
this was back before the miami sound machine people took over her career and pimped out her image

i thought i might get you with this one
when you posted the DLR clip i automatically started humming his version of just a gigolo and went to listen to it on youtube
then i saw David Bowie in a clip related to the older song and found out about the movie
figured that if he was in the movie and the movie includes a classic song that he would be singing it too
and since you have a gay crush on this guy i thought you would get a kick out of it

a lot of younger people dont like labyrinth for its predatory tones
they dont realize that it is exactly the point of the story
its the eyes wide shut of childrens fantasy movies
but what do i know, im just a worm

I didn't like his appearance in the silly wig and spandex, puffy stuff and weird makeup
after the starman I know that sounds weird but I've heard a total of 10 minutes of the dialogue maybe and couldn't even tell you what its about
Lalas favorite movie ever and I sat there a couple of years back w her daughter to watch it and just couldn't do it
just a gigolo that's life and the truth

For most of my life I only enjoyed hardcore gangster rap and 80s music
    quite the pair
Something has changed in the past 7 years or so and I find myself enjoying a wide variety of genres
I couldn't exactly pinpoint why I like a song or not, I just do
If a song has a good instrumental or beat, it certainly helps

This is the type of music I was listening to for the majority of my life

had a somewhat similar yet difference experience
was a hard rocker in the 70's then switched gears to new wave in the 80's
consequently i absolutely hated pop, especially disco
then, a few years ago something funny happened
i started hearing these songs again, some 20+ years later, and not only did i no longer hate them -- i somehow knew all the words
one band i despised in the late 70's/early 80's was the bee gees
but listening to them now i don't see how i failed to see their talent

loved my rock and roll but was always closet Motown and maybe that's why I can't really do rap
I remember real black music and being in love w bands like Rufus
I think I was maybe 13 begging to stay up until midnight to see this performance
had a serious crush on Chaka Kahn and it was her birthday yesterday and mine today!

Rock for me 70's and 80's, pretty much hard, soft, pop, easy listening, and the hair bands. Only rock for the most part I avoided was metal.

Then the 90's came and grunge happened, and I absolutely could not get into it. It depressed and annoyed the shit out of me, so in 1994 I decided to take a look at country, and I've never looked back. Still like my classic rock, but for new stuff it's only country. Yeah, you can definitely pin the blame on grunge for that.

I actually get that. I'm a bit older so my "meh" window was the 80s. I hated the emo bands and the 'college rock" REM & Replacements groups for a long time. I then went back and embraced outlaw country. It's still a favorite ....

Difference is ... now I love that mid-80s stuff i once hated. I'll listen to the Cure or Smiths or that genre and I enjoy it. I just couldn't stand that scene then. Mascara and black clothes .... GTFOOH.
