Erisbel and Rojas are pretty much the only shortstops we have in our system and there's nothing they've shown in the MLB or in scouting reports that they could hit above a .600 OPS or some shit

A lot of what I've seen on Twitter regarfing gm and manager is that the owners like Don.

Colletti looks like he's lost a lot of support though.

we are a good offensive team with Hanley, are you serious? look at this numbers this year top 5 in the league basically across the board.

taking away all of Kershaw's starts are so stupid, of course he makes our team so much better, that's the point of having him. lmao

Because I don't follow much if the minor leagues, what is Seager projected as? SS or 3B?

One time he told me that Hanley was garbage this year cause he wasn't having a year as good as 2013. So next year when Kershaw has a 1.90 ERA, he'll call him garbage

I was reading that the team feels Arru has a lot of potential with his quick hands. They made some changes in his mechanics and it helped generate better at bats, but they felt a full off season and spring where they could really retool him would do the trick. That's why I'd be comfortable with him out there in my lineup, but no Hanley and that changes EVERYTHING and no Martin would change some things.

He's a SS right now but everyone says he probably moves to 3B. Can't see him up til earliest in like September next year if he has another great year

It's all 3B, I guess he just makes too many mistakes up the middle. Though he seems to really want to succeed at the SS position... whatever that is worth.

A full year of healthy Kemp and Crawford like we had down the stretch changes those records too. Those stats are also ignoring our shitty bullpen which cost us a handful of games as well.

    IF: Uribe, Dee, Prospect, Adrian
    OF: Kemp, Joc, Puig
    C: Martin, AJ
Invest in more pitching to always be dominant at the mound and therefore get the most of the defensive improvements.
Deep IF depth to provide instant offense or to relieve slumping role players like Uribe, Dee, or the rookie.
Go for a team chemistry thing where Martin can step right in and have the respect of the other players as a leader on the team.
Crawford and/or Van Slyke provide good fourth/fifth OF material.
Hanleys offense may be better balanced out by small improvements to the overall team.

Dee, Joc or Craw = above average top of lineup
Kemp, Puig, Agon = excellent heart of lineup.
Uribe, Martin, Prospect = average bottom of lineup

Dee should improve if not Turner is there to help, Joc should be a good player if he doesnt work out Craw is there to offer high priced veteranship services.
Martin and AJ can go from below average to average to above average depending on the time of the month/year. But they can also suck really bad or do some really great things to help you win a game. So overall its not as bad as you think... just draft more catchers.
Uribe is old and faithful but we have a Cubano who is supposed to be a big deal with the bat and Uribe is a real good seat warmer.
Dodgers have a sure gloved SS prospect ready to come up next year... or did NedCo trade him?
Logan and Wallach should replace the braintrust or did Wallach get traded too?
I have faith in Kemp, Puig, and Adrian.

I know we are supposed to be negative here, but I wanted to point out some of the positives that came out of this year for a team that should still be good for a long time.
    - Kershaw is still unbelievable. I hope everyone here realizes how lucky we are to have him on our team. He lost both those games thanks to the FO not backing him up with a decent bullpen. He's not out there that late on a 100 degree day nor in their for 100 pitches on short rest. I'm excited for the future with him and look forward to an 80 grade change up he probably adds in the offseason.
    - Greinke and Ryu, the unsung back ups to CK have been everything we could have asked for and more behind our ace. Greinke has continued to be some sort of a wizard and Ryu has developed into a guy who can sit at the front of most rotations.
    - What was becoming a strong farm system, has only strengthened thanks to good years from the top prospects and strong additions via the draft and int'l signings.
    - Kemp is alive and well and looks like a potential 30+ HR guy again.
    - Dee turned in one of the better years for 2B this year and has gone from potential DFA to solid piece on a good team.
    - SVS went from getting DFA'd to one of the most dangerous right on left bats in the game. I followed his MiLB career and he would always struggle at a new level, then crush and get promoted and restart the cycle. I always felt he was good enough to make the needed adjustments and am thrilled to see he'll be a part of the bench for a good long while.
    - Ginger Jesus came out of nowhere and helped give us one of the/if not the strongest bench in the league while still giving us 2 more years of team control. He won't bat .340 next year, but I don't expect .220 either.

It sucked that our weakest link took us down this year, but a couple additions could make this team a whole hell of a lot of fun to watch the next few seasons.

Letting Hanley go will be a mistake. Stats don't lie. We are a much better team with him that without him.

Letting Hanley walk is a putting all our chips on Seager developing into a star. Would rather just resign Hanley and deal with a Hanley/Seager problem when/if it ever arises.

    One can move to 3B.

Juan will be gone by the time Seager is ready.

Most likely Seager because Hanley could flip out if he's moved from SS for a kid.

    True.

I just can't see the ownership giving him 20 million a year. I could live with Hanley here for three or four years, but he may also want years added to his contract.

if they bring Hanley back it better be for 3 or 4 years. this 1yr/qualifying offer stuff so he can walk into another contract year is insanity. even Mattingly came out and said he thought Hanley was letting his contract status affect his play. just give him the 4yr/70M without any options if anything at all.

Qualifying offer or hit the bricks as far as Ramirez goes. Would rather spend that money on David Robertson and/or Andrew Miller. Yes, I realize a Loogy is worth about $7M on a good day.

    this
    hanley for one year, fine
three-four years and a lot of cash, no thanks
that money could be better spent elsewhere as '99 alluded
    strengthen the bully
    pick up a starter (lester/max)
and give seager a shot if hanley bolts
