Asked if Time Warner Cable would again extend a goodwill gesture to fans without SportsNet LA, airing the final six games of the regular season on KDOC, TWC spokesman Nadia Gonzalez said, "We have no plans to do that."

KDOC General Manager John Manzi said he had not had any discussions with TWC but would welcome the Dodgers back, "I would love to have them again."

I use an AppleTV. It works like a champ with unblock-us and mlb.TV.

The AppleTV setup was actually really easy, you just change the DNS settings on the AppleTV and you are good to go. I have a Roku on another TV, and the Roku I have doesn't let you change DNS settings, so I had to change the settings on my router for the Roku to work. Either way, those types of devices work.

hey mousey could you elaborate on it?
how do you watch broadcast tv et al; do you have to sign up with a provider?
and does mlbtv show all the games, even if they're broadcast on other channels (espn/fox/tnt/tbs, etc.)
    thanks man!

AppleTV just runs apps which typically require their own logins (like Hulu, Netflix, mlb.TV, HBOGo, etc...). I don't use it for broadcast TV. For broadcast TV I have the most basic basic cable package that Cox gave me for free when I cancelled my cable service, but you might be able to just use an antenna. If an antenna doesn't work, your cable provider usually has a package for about $10/mo with the basic channels.

As far as mlb.TV goes, when you use unblock-us it sets your location as another country (which you can change). As long as your location isn't in the US or Canada, nothing is blacked out. So if the game is on ESPN, FOX, TNT, etc... it doesn't matter. You can watch all the games.

To stream the TBS FS1 MLBN and FOX games in the post season I think your account has to be authenticated by providing the username and password for your television provider.

You mean, you have to provide your cable username and password if using the TBS, FS1, MLBN, or FOX apps? Isn't that the case anytime you use those apps?

If you use the mlb.TV app as a non-US user, you shouldn't need a cable provider.

You are 100 percent right on the first part. Those free apps are a great alternative to those who don't have MLB.TV and want to watch the postseason on their mobile devices. All they need is their TV provider username and password (or someone else's if they're willing).

As for the second part...You don't need to put TV provider info for MLB.TV during the regular season but in the post season you might:
"Major League Baseball Advanced Media announced that it will stream select postseason games blackout-free, so you can watch live online or on your mobile device. You'll just need to complete a one-time authentication with your participating TV provider."

Can't believe this matter still hasn't been resolved. This would never happen if it were the Yankees, Red Sox or Cardinals networks. The fans wouldn't allow it.

Because we need reminded once again that they are 1st class dickheads?

well why not? They have proven over the course of yet another year that they CARE NOTHING about Los Angeles or it's premier baseball team

Manfred worried Dodgers' TV blackout could continue
by Dylan Hernandez | Los Angeles Times

The majority of households in Los Angeles have not been able to watch the Dodgers on television for the last two seasons.

Speaking Tuesday morning at the general managers meetings, Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred acknowledged he was worried the blackout could extend into a third season.

“My concern could not be higher,” Manfred said. “I think that the Dodgers and the Los Angeles market are crucial to Major League Baseball and its reach. This has gone on a long time.”

Manfred said he is optimistic SportsNet LA, the Dodgers-owned cable channel, could have more widespread distribution in time for next season.

“I’m hopeful that there are dynamics in play beyond baseball, in terms of corporate activity, that may create some flexibility and, hopefully, we will get a resolution in time for the 2016 season,” he said.

Charter Cable is in the process of a proposed takeover of Time Warner Cable, which has distribution rights for SportsNet LA. Once federal regulators approve the merger -- the companies are hopeful that can happen before the start of the upcoming season -- Charter will attempt to sell SportsNet LA to cable and satellite operators that don’t already carry the channel.

MLB.TV and unlocator worked great for me, might have to get the adaptor so I can hook my laptop up to my TV though.

Before I got TWC, this worked great for me too.

    But this is ridiculous.

Can't even see the Dodgers in a restaurant when you go out for dinner. It's like the Dodgers don't exist anymore.

Casual fans and potential new fans are blacked out because they aren't going to be able to tune in while channel surfing.

    This is horrible.

Eff TWC and, honestly, the Dodgers.

Yeah I think it's about time the blame shifts to the Dodgers. I defended them for awhile because TWC made an awful deal, but this shit has gone on for way too long.

They are a business and they took advantage of a stupid deal, just like they did themselves when they overpaid and let FUCKFACE keep half of the parking lots...and their high-priced nerd team now does with players... I switched to TWC and have had to endure their HORRIBLE service ever since but hey, what can I do?

It's a complete clusterfuck for all parties involved, except for the commies and Muslims who don't watch baseball and WGAF about them?
