I'm a Ghana supporter, have caught hell the last couple of weeks.

BTW, USA didn't look good last outing. Scored early, so they sat back and parked the bus for 90 minutes. Ghana had them hashed open a couple of times, but Howard either was bailing them out or there were some poor finishing on the final 3rd for Ghana. That Gyan back heel to A.Ayew was fucking sweet though, top three of WC goals thus far.

Not sure how USA's back four will fare against Portugal though, but then again Portugal is in disarray at the moment.

I got into it when it was here.
Played one tournament, won mvp as a goalie.
My team lost in the final.
I was a last minute replacement for a goalie who was not able to make it.
The game was up in big bear, high in the mountains and good for lung power.
But I was not a soccer guy.
Just had watched my all star cousin train for years.
I got a ton of support to take his spot.
He thought me pretty well, I stood on my head all week at the meet and we nearly won the cup.
But I rolled on a dudes leg.
    His leg/knee broke.
    Hell broke loose.
I was hidden away to save my life.
He was airlifted to the hospital.
And a team and it's fans looked at me with the evil eye.

I've never thought if that guy needs help or if he recovered and had a fruitful life.
His brothers wanted to kill me if not for a bunch of crazy Mexicans that saved my skin.
When you have broken a lot of hearts you never know if the guy coming to get you is on the same pitch as you.

This dude kept coming at me with kicks to the face/arms after I had the ball in my hands.
I rolled into him instead of away after one too many shots to my dome.
And then he cried and never stopped.
So I never played soccer again.
But I have an mvp award with a bear as the logo.

Respectfully disagree about that goal being top 3 so far.
    1. Is the Tim Cahill goal.
    2. Is Van Pierse flying header

And imo Clint Dempsey's 30 second goal was much more impressive.

I worked for the World Cup in 94, which was here and there in the USA-different stadiums. When the games were in Giants Stadium (so called at the time), I did security. We expected all kinds of trouble, got very little at all....certainly not like you see worldwide.
But I stayed on for the concert season after the Cup, and it was like a melee most times. Actually, there were more problems in the local bars after the games. Ireland had a huge fan contingent that came, and they just tore up the hotel bars, what a pisser There was some problems at the Grateful Dead concert, mostly drugs. Couple of naked people spinning around like tops I remember well. Surprise.
Not too many problems at the Stones or Elton John...the worst was Billy Joel- violence, guns (off duty drunken cops), state police...totally insane. An off duty Long Island cop punched a 17 year old girl in the jaw-fractured it. When the state cops got him, they really hurt the guy. I was glad.
Got involved in some hairy shit, they asked me to stay on permanently.
Said farewell, not for that salary bro. Plus I was already done with the military type shit long before.
Point being, the concert fans were worse than the football fans.
But now with the bananas/racism and Nazi salutes from players on the field, I don't know WTF is going on.

Dives, Drama Queens, stretchers, over dramatizing non existent injuries, 0-0 ties.

Sorry guys but soccer sucks. I gave it a shot but what I saw was enough to think of soccer as a permanent joke.

Playoff games should not end in a tie.
Play two out of three if the sport is so damn popular, wouldn't that be an opportunity to capitalize on more revenue? Or have OT with less players on the field or have shootouts.

Amazing! Population of Costa Rica was only 4.8 million as of 2012. They're currently 2-0 in Brazil after beating Uruguay (2 Cup titles) and Italy (4 cup titles).

I liked the Ayew one better, as the US parked the bus and it took a precise pass to get off a good shot. I agree with the top two, though. Cahill's volley was bad ass!
