That was a great movie. I saw it with 6 people and we all liked it. It's not a real baseball movie though, more of a Grand torino grumpy old man movie. I love Amy Adams.
so you weren't worried about getting up early for work? oh wait you were at work...that must make a big difference.
Its as predictable as it can be, hitting on all possible cliches there are in the book... Its not terrible as I enjoyed it, but its cheesier than a rally day at Chuck E Cheese...
yup, when it finished I wanted to watch 10 more hours of what happened before and after that time period. Impossible to convey his entire story in one movie, but I feel they did as good a job as they could have. Some cheese, but it's necessary for a movie. I loved the actors who played Jackie and Rachel though, they were fantastic.
I don't think you can make a movie about Jackie's first year and not having it oozing with cheese and melodrama because well that's how it was. I wish they did a movie about three years into his ML career where he was allowed to talk shit, and some of the 1 liners he gave out about some players wives :ruca:
Funny story, I was told that I wasn't a real Dodger fan yesterday. I was told this because I was talking to a friend about 42 and when he asked me if I liked it I said it was "ok". He then proceeded with "are you serious" "how did you not like it" type bs. He then told me that it was one of the greatest movies ever made. Afterwards he passive aggressively told me that whoever doesn't think that it was one of the greatest movies ever isn't a true Dodgers fan. LMFAO He is the type of "fan" who will only go to games if the tickets are free and does not watch more than 4 games a season on TV but will rock the fuck out of Dodgers gear everywhere he goes. He also thinks that we need to bring Joe Torre back to manage the team because he is the greatest manager ever. lol
Having a BBQ at my house and him and another friend talking about Ethier and why Puig is struggling earlier and lets just say I chuckled a little bit. They said we can't trade Dre cause he's still really good. I asked why they think that and they said because he hit that HR last night. lol
Fixed, most people don't know shit about shit. Women are the worst though. I've met very very very few women that are fans of a team that hasn't won a championship or been relevant within the last few years, save "Niner Girls" but they got on that bandwagon in the 80's and 90's. All fans are inherently moronic and the vast majority of them are bandwagonners Show me someone that's a fan of the Clippers 5 years ago and I'll show you a liar. There were a few I'll admit but like Angel fans up until 2002 they were basically non existent. My cousins husband who "Has been an Angel fan his entire life" was trying to crack on the Dodgers this past Easter it was sad. My trump card was I like the Dodgers because I started watching baseball before 2002, that really pissed him off. I also finished with glad to see you hacks found a uniform that was marketable enough to stick with, let me know when you buy enough history and tradition. Bkitch.
Played. My wife is an Angels fan but she became an Angels fan because of that "Angels in the Outfield" movie when she was a kid, hell it makes sense and the sad part is it's a better reason than most of their fanbase has.
