NL West Notes: Dodgers close to a trade sending Puig to Seattle By Steve Adams [April 1, 2014 at 12:58pm PST] According to a source close to the Dodgers, Los Angeles is in the final negotiations of a deal that will send Cuban phenom, Yasiel Puig, to the Seattle Mariners for infielder Nick Franklin and a player to be named later. For the Seattle Mariners this will add another middle-of-the-order bat to pair with newly acquired Robinson Cano. For the Dodgers this will free up their outfield logjam while providing a much needed middle infielder to the mix.
When reached for comment Ned Colletti said, "This is obviously an April Fools prank by BlueMouse." Colletti continued, "But we love BlueMouse. We love our fans. We hope everyone gets a chance to come out to the stadium this weekend to see all the great changes."
Never believed this for 1 second, FAIL! (could also help the fact that Puig is playing right now in the game)
Had he included Iwakuma or Felix, Franklin, cash and a hoard of "prospects" and the Dodgers sending Zach Lee, it would have been, 10% believable.
Maybe if you used Ethier would be more believable but he doesn't have the gravitas of Puig. Hey I'm here so you got me. Nicely done Blue Mouse!
dave is something of a legend around here, to us PSD guys. We don't know a lot about him personally, but he liked to tell stories and he was probably super old. I remember one time he told a story about Babe Herman's rookie season, and he told it as if he had actually been there. dave was best known for suggesting the craziest trades. A signature dave trade included 3+ teams, at least 2 all stars, a crapload of minor leaguers, and a ton of misspelled names. Basically trade ideas that were way more complicated than anything that has actually ever happened. I was joshing you on that premise. To put a cap on the story, the last dave sighting was about 3-4 years ago. What happened is anyone's guess.
I always liked Dave's insane trades. A typical Dave trade would be: Julio Urias Joc Pederson Corey Seager Dee Gordon For Bryce Harper I didn't have time to add in the third and possibly fourth team but rest assured he would have a deal where we send every decent minor leaguer we have out for all star quality players. Somehow Dave would put together a package for Trout, despite him signing an extension. This wasnt for you Brad but adding on to your excellent memory of Dave.
I don't remember racial comments, but all of us PSD guys are pretty racist ourselves - so it could have gone unnoticed. So the legend of dave/Feebs? One in the same?
i think i remember that guy from my brief time on the espn boards in the 90's guy was always posting weird pics of steak and praising his wife and iirc he also had a knack for misspellings same guy?
