Dum Dum will be demoted to hitting coach. In Great Lakes........... Right in the middle of the Great Lakes.
The more I think about this, the more I wonder if Feiedman is telling the truth and that if Joe comes to LA it will be as the new GM. It's a step up from managing and I wonder if he wants to get out of all the travel and try something a little different.
from dodgersnation.com While Friedman has publicly supported Mattingly, the belief or threat of Maddon becoming the Dodgers’ manager likely won’t truly subside until he assumes another job or replaces Mattingly. thank you captain fucken obvious :jethro:
That's why the use of the wording if they could sign. If they couldn't for the reasons you give they wouldn't fire their manager. I didn't say 8o percent of teams but 80 percent of those who could sign.
After back to back NL West Championships and a 94 win season does management want to fire and take a chance of not making the playoffs with Maddon? Playoffs aside how many more regular season wins should we have expected? Reds fired Dusty Baker last year because he didn't go far enough in the playoffs and this year?
if they know like we know..that Mattingly is shaky at best as an in-game manager, then yes they should. at least 6 and a #1 seed more importantly. this year their MVP was hurt for most of it. i'm not joining this " well, looks like we may not get Maddon, so let's convince ourselves that Mattingly's not as bad as we think " movement. Mattingly stinks. he's only good for backslappin. he's basically a glorified bench coach that hasn't achieved the glory as a player or manager. we should all be disappointed if the Dodgers don't upgrade.
