I love Artie Lange, and Beer League was funny. But it was a softball movie, so not sure it counts here.
Funny. I read a top 10 list that had that movie on it. But I wouldn't call it a baseball movie at all. They could have taken baseball out of that movie and it wouldn't have changed a whole hell of a lot.
I read through 2 pages of this garbage and I can't believe how not one person mentioned: If this doesn't win 1st overall then none of you people know anything about movies or Baseball.
In all seriousness, I know a lot of people are going to vote for Field of Dreams. So is there any criteria at all going into these picks? Having Joe Jackson bat righty and throw lefty is a very irresponsible mistake, IMO. I still think it's a top 5 movie but there's no way it goes ahead of:
I didn't really think about it, but looking back I'm glad I made it open to interpretation. If enough people define a movie as one of the best, then it deserves to be there. If I put any parameters on this vote, then we would have spent the better part of a week just arguing about those.
The Fan; Mr.3000; Bang the Drum Slowly; Hungry Hungry Homer; Fear Strikes Out. No list is better than this one.
Nope, Gary Busey's lack of athleticism negates any movie. Same with Tony Danza in Anals in the Outfield.
loved the movie as a kid, so fcking stupid now that I watch it. But I still watch it out of nastalgia.
yeah, but only one gets you laid. Although a girl did blow me after we watched angels in the outfield. so, there's that.
John Goodman's Babe was highly entertaining, but from film footage I've seen the real Babe seemed kind of creepy.
