This is posted in the general baseball thread, but to make sure everybody sees it I'll re-post it here...

I was watching A League Of Their Own, one of my favorite movies, and thought about starting another list here at DSP.

So PM me your list of the Top 5 Baseball Movies. Again... PM me your list. Don't put your list here. We don't want people, knowingly or not, being influenced by somebody else. Just click my name and select "Start Conversation", then put "Top 5 Baseball Movies" in the subject field.

61* is good but it just missed the cut for me. I put the original bad news bears as my number 5

Anyone else get a bit choked up at the end of for love I the game when John c Riley gives his speech to Kevin Costner how the whole team is behind him while he tries to throw a perfect game? Great stuff. Not to mention vin Scully is an announcer in the movie.

A League of Their Own... lesbian? Give me a break. It shows a love for the game, not just from the players, but from the fans, owners, coaches, etc. I don't see how somebody could be a true baseball fan and not like that movie. I can see it not being Top 5, but to scoff at it is ridiculous.

I saw it and wasn't overly impressed. I suppose I can see it as a top 10 baseball movie, but personally it wouldn't have made my top 10.

The top 5 or 10 is always subject to opinion and who likes the actors/ lesbians or not, etc.
But is there better music composed for a BB film better than Randy Newman did with "The Natural" ??

It's obvious that Beer League and The Benchwarmers are going to go 1-2. The only question is which one of the two will win.
