    My 3 observations:

    1. Dumbfuck move to call Corey back with the bags full.

    2. Nice subtle touch to have the home plate shaped light casting it's reflection in the players' eyes at the beginning

    3. Carew's daughter has a nice toilet.

    Oh yes. Outstanding.
I thought, in lieu of any LA Dodger doing anything positive or significant at all ( I guess the Kenley K is OK), an apparent snub to Corey by ph for him ( maybe just a move to get the little guy on the game though) that Carew's daughter's ass was the highpoint of the night.
    By far.
Oh, and a shit job of starting by El Booger Cueto was pretty good too.

    One of two wishes granted.

The torn groin would have been preferable.

Offensive numbers like that can not be denied, but only in this day and age of the diluted and altered form of the best sport ever, could a totally incomplete athlete be lionized the way he is constantly.
The game as it was designed to played, made no provision for a "player" to sit on the bench in between offensive half innings, not going through the stress of playing defense or facing those type of injuries.
All players should have to face the same set of rules and risks, and I'm glad this is the last year we have to deal with his ass kissed adulation.

Not that being old is any kind of accomplishment or anything ( nor is it anything to be dissed over, either ), but I remember the first time they won the WS. Yeehah!
    Never mind the last...ha ha.

Cueto did lose which was satisfying but it's a shame he wasted a bad outing on this game and not his next start!

Agree but since San Diego is clearly a Navy town and they do host alot of military I'm fine with them wearing when those days are up.

    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/baseball-star-game-draws-record-low-tv-rating-192002713--mlb.html

I'm shocked. SHOCKED, I tell you!

What could be wrong??? Take notes, new commish...

Playing for home field advantage in the WS is complete and utter bullshit. Thanks OSelig. Each league should take turns be home team. It shouldn't rest one one exhibition game played by players who may not be worthy of representing their league.

Letting each fan vote 9 million times for his favorite borderline star player is sheer idiocy. Look at all the worthy players who watched at home while slightly above league average guys go to the game. I'll go ahead and lump in the "each team sends one player" rule too. If your team sucks nads and doesn't have a worthy player, then go get fucked. This is the ALL-STAR game, not the CHARITY STAR game. Let the players and managers (coaches too) vote cause they know who's playing and who's getting by on reputation. Let's throw in a new wrinkle...let the position players vote for their own leagues pitching staff (other than say the top three). Who better knows their own leagues opposing pitchers than the guys that face them regularly? Fuck that cronyism shit where the league manager names half his own staff to the team.

I'm sure I had other points to make but the Extrovert IPA is working really well right now (thanks Left Hand Brewing) and I seem to have lost my train of thought while ranting like an old guy shaking his fist at the sky (don't look at me.)

I'll leave you with this direct quote from this very short article.

The baseball All-Star Game has drawn a record-low television rating for the second straight year.

I'm a baseball fan. I watch very little pro football and NO pro basketball. I did not watch ANY part of the All-Star festivities or game, cause it sucks. And that's sad.

MLB really needs to rethink the all star game. Everything about it feels wrong. Gimmicky uniforms. 38 player rosters (WTF?). Wil Myers batting cleanup. An all-Cubs infield. A game managed like an exhibition game, but it means something. Fans more worried about their players getting injured than playing. The star-ness feels diluted. I'm not even sure the original reasons why people were interested in an all-star game even exist anymore. Changes need to be made. Hell, I'd support getting rid of it all together.

which is NOT that same as making the greatest players of today's game dress up in fecal brown and baby puke yellow just to cater to the local idiot losers
