Dylan Hernandez @dylanohernandez7sSource: The #Dodgers have signed Jamey Wright to a one-year deal.
I like him as a swing man, but with the signing of Perez this is weird So: Jansen, Wilson, Perez, Wright, League, Howell are locks and there's one more spot left for either Paco or Withrow
It's also possible (I have no information to back this up) that Perez could have failed his physical.
Not bad signing. I liked Wright the first time around. I wonder if there is something in the works coming soon.
I thought the same thing as well, but when you take a step back you can understand the FO's thought process by signing these guys. - League and Perez are both HUGE question marks coming off bad to awful seasons. If one or both look as bad or worse at ST than they did last year, the team could be considering eating some money and letting them go. -Paco deteriorated badly down the stretch, if he comes back to camp unable to locate and just throwing BP fastballs, they can send him back to ABQ. -Withrow had his moments, but a RP can not survive continually working behind in the count. The team could be thinking of sending him to ABQ to work on that.
I like the relief depth we have now. Although it's not optimal to maybe have some superior arms in Triple A, we all know we can't rely on simply 7 guys in a bullpen for 162 games so now we have solid options when injuries arise
I agree, especially on Paco. He was overworked last year and if his arm doesn't snap back he has options. Kasten is hedging his bets and if everyone is okie-dokie then there is no shortage of teams looking for bullpen help.
Wright when I thought Ned couldn't get any dumber.... ...he goes and does something like this.... and TOTALLY REDEEMS HIMSELF!
