Especially Beli, who just put the other turn behind him, and became again the urban myth he was always destined to be. Who the fuck would want to hit against this guy? The way his ball move into RH, it looks like the 1b threw it. Between Beli and League, these two have some of the nastiest stuff in BB, IMO. Beckett must find a way today. What I find strange, is that Hanley , when he swings for the low outside pitch, just keeps standing straight up as if it isn't low and outside. If you don't bend a little towards the ball (since you're swinging at a ball out of the zone, not a strike anyway) why doesn't he at least try to extend his bat length and get some wood on it? Y'know-bend fucking over a little. Victorino swings at the same shit pitches all the time, but at least he moves towards it some. I've never seen that before. Of course, I've never seen anybody who stares at at the ball in his glove and spins it a certain way before he throws it on a putout either. Or players who have to run the bases in a make believe, GS HR trot without a bat or ball in play. Is this part of SABR ? Damn, all this shit is getting by me.

When Hanley shortens his swing he becomes a line drive hitter that can hit for some average. We need that. HR are nice, but Kemp, Gonzo, and Ethier should be hitting those. Hanley needs to stop trying to get so big all the time. He throws ABs away in big time situations sometimes...trying to do way too much.
All we can control is US. End of story. We need to win today and then take it from SF. We need to be willing to whatever is necessary to win. We need to be desperate. Throwing inside. Hitting straight back to the box--line drive style. Taking out guys at second. Upending catchers. Make the other team afraid. Make them wish that the season has already ended.
