There is garbage, and then there is Ramon Hernandez...a pile of dog poop wrapped in a thin paper towel.
We save 2+ mil, and deal from a place of depth to get a position where we lacked it. It's not shiny, but Harang has tiny value. Rockies DFAd him, showing just how low his value was. Wasn't an awesome deal but it makes sense I guess. Ramon isn't very good but I also think FedEx sucks so dk.
i really respect bankers because they seem to know the value of a wide variety of things in an instant. hate all you want on harang but his value was not zero plus eat his salary. thats retarded. look around at mlb pitching staffs.
After unloading Aaron Harang in yesterday's trade with the Rockies, the Dodgers would still love to find a taker for Ted Lilly, who earns $12MM this year. However, there has been little to no interest in the veteran so far. would have made a little more sense had they parted with lilly instead of harang who knows, maybe he was becoming a negative presence behind the scenes still don't quite understand the deal itself, but if he didn't want to be here fuck him hope he ends up with someone we get to play and we fucken pound him... of course, at this point, we have yet to pound anyone
I thought no one would say this. He might not make our current Dodger Top 5 starters but still he was better than Ramon damned Hernandez plus cash!!!! Fucking Ned is now pissing away someone elses money.
I'm glad that Ryu had a solid outing but he's still a junk hauler something goes awry and we're gonna miss Harang...
He made it clear he didn't want to be here and his agent probably made it even clearer. Just a year ago he was a free agent and signed with us early in the free agent season. He thought the mess we had was the perfect opportunity for security and who knows what promises were made to him. The situation has returned and he will be a FA after this year and his number one priority is his family and their financial security. His future with us was limited as Capuano is next on the depth chart and other than Bills we have show the other four starters are healthy. Three are kicking ass and we will see what Beckett does his next start.
Everyone knows we have to make a move and very soon, especially with Bills coming off the DL. So teams were probably sitting and waiting for us to release him and they get him on the really cheap. So the amount of salary we are dumping probably still has us ahead.
Question if Fed Ex and Hernandez both played today how did we create roster space for Hernandez prior to sending Fed Ex down or did we only have 24 on the roster?
Duhhhh yeah, this headache is worse than I thougth. Thank you for being so kind in your clarification. Others would not have been. Hopefully it wasn't a case of senior citizen kindness:dizzy:
If AJ Ellis got hurt and Fed-Ex had to catch every day it'd be a disaster. We add a third capable C to the team, get to let Fed-Ex play in AAA every day, and clear a roster spot for Chad. Good move.
no it doesn't just because you have excess starters, doesn't mean you should give them away for trash they could have gotten some use out of harang and eventually traded him for a better return if nothing else, they wouldn't have had to pay a chunk of his salary now they have some washed up backup catcher who's probably never going to play this was just another senseless move by the idiot colletti
