What do Shane Victorino, Joe Blanton and all of our currently or soon to be acquired free agents have in common? They are now playing for an organization that is demonstrating that if they want you they have all the money then need to sign you if they want you and you are available. If any of these guys have stud like finishes to the season and the Dodgers want them back they know the money is available to try and strike a deal. What pitcher wouldn't want the money and the lineup to pitch with that we are assembling now and in the off season? Victorin0! Hell what leadoff hitter wouldn't want Kemp, Eithier and Ramirez behind him in the line up and Who knows who else we will have this time next year.
this is really freaking incredible. The whole league is pissing in their parents as you now have Stan Katsen with a virtually blank check book. This is what happened with the Nats. They spent a lot of money on free agents to make a statement while they assembled a strong farm system and look at them now.
I def. want to see more from Ethier. I think Chris said the oblique might be a factor. First 40+ games: 9 HR Last 50+ games: 2 HR
I just want Selig to hand Kemp the commissioners trophy in October with confetti falling down and Randy Newman blasting!
David Ross is a GREAT backup catcher. I'd love him. Idk what he's doing this year or if he's getting too old. Idk his defense. But the past several years for the Reds and Braves he's been so good
Can the Mets afford the 16.5 million club option for David Wright next year? BZ is local there I wonder what he thinks!
The FA list sucks so much! Hamilton is messed up in the head and gets injured a lot. Wright and Cano will be picked up on their options.
Wonder how he would feel coming back to us. I chalk him up as one who got away at a position when ended up being short on. I understand why but it still would have been nice tho have had him as a backup to Martin etc etc.
There is a very very very clear message being sent. If you want to win and are a good player, the Dodgers are interested. Two and three years ago players were avoiding the Dodgers due to financial constraints and backloaded contracts. Now, we are fucking open for business for the best and brightest.

If the Mets can't or don't extend Wright he may want to be traded to a team that can extend him while they have an opening. Once we get a third baseman of note the offer is off the table.
Definitely a weak class but there is ONE name that I fucking want. Cargo. Cargo. Cargo. Cargo. I would be willing to have stop gap that could convert to 1st for next year if I thought he was on our radar for the following year. He, Hanley, Kemp, and Ethier is just fucking sexy.
