So what does that make the combined salaries of our two MLB catchers? Hmmm somewhere around 1.25 million I would guess. So we should expect? We have two MLB ready catchers over 30 with a combined salary of 1.25 million. Now we can see why Barajas is elsewhere.

Breaking news: Gibby named Manager of the year along with Joe Madden

Not sure where to post this but if a new owner doesn't like Donnie as our manager, would you want Francona. He announced today that he won't manage in 2012. Interesting.

That is ridiculous. Almost as ridiculous as Gibson winning.

^Keep in mind voting happens before the playoffs and NOBODY thought the Dbags were even going to be a 500+ team let alone division champ.

yeah, MOY is a pretty stupid award and Gibson winning it is pretty stupid, but predictable.

I'd bet Mattingly got the vote from an LA based voter who thought he dealt through some adversity and still managed a respectable team

How is it stupid that Gibson won? He got a shit team to win 94 games.

He dealt with what, one injury? How shitty was the division he won in? How hard is it to convince young guys to play well for there first contract? It's pretty easy to get these talented kids to play as good as they can when they know if they play well, they will get a lot of money.

I've watched Gibson, and he's just not a good manager. This award is more like, "who was the coach of the team that played better then people thought they would." Honestly, I don't think managers make that big of an impact.

    • Dodgers owner Frank McCourt will sell 100% of the team but retain the land outside of the Dodger Stadium parking lots in a deal that could be worth upwards of $1.3 billion, tweets Bob Nightengale of USA Today.
    • FOX Sports released a statement on the Dodgers' lawsuit against them and termed the action as the "latest chapter in the current owner's ongoing scheme to avoid honoring his contractual obligations," tweets Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times.

Outside of the marking lots? Or the actual lots? Mccourt owns the freeway and Elysian Park?

he's gonna build his mansion there so he can watch the team from a distance and cry when we win the World Series in a few years.

Classic Ned signings but can we get a fucking third baseman? I know Uribe is under contract but didn't Mattingly say no one gets an automatic spot, they actually have to perform?

I really can't wait till Ned is gone. That has to be a top priority when we get a new owner.
