Salesman Magic “I think Julius Randle is going to have a breakout season,” Magic said on Spectrum SportsNet. “The league better watch out. This guy has all the athletic ability. Now he’s working on his shot. He’s working on his right hand, and he’s already worked on his body. “With Lonzo Ball running that point, I think he’s really going to have a breakout season and excite our fanbase on the end of that pass from a Lonzo Ball like big James [Worthy] used to do with that one hand.”
While the Pacers posture for the right deal, George is apparently still making it clear his plan is to join the Lakers in the summer of 2018, reports Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times: According to people not authorized to speak publicly, George, a Palmdale native, is still telling friends that he intends to be a Laker in 2018. Because of that, he knows the Lakers have little incentive to trade for him now. According to league sources, if the Pacers get an acceptable offer from another team, the Lakers will at least be prepared to make a counteroffer and not take the chance that George lands elsewhere, which could lead to him avoiding the Lakers altogether. Of course, an even bigger fear among those that are pursuing George is that the Lakers remain on the sideline and make no attempt to match any deal for George. It is odd to consider — especially after the four-year wave of high-profile players who turned down Lakers' overtures — that the Lakers are not aggressively pursuing a trade for a star player who wants to be in LA. For some, it’s even suspicious. “That’s what has to worry you most,” one general manager said. “If LA is not getting involved at all, then you have to ask why. Why wouldn’t they make an offer? They did at the draft, so what changed? That is when you worry that maybe all this talk is a smokescreen and Paul George has not really changed his mind about LA.”
Let the cheap spending/cap space saving begin.. According Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times, the team may be bringing another familiar face back to the fold as well, reporting on the eve of free agency that the Lakers "are leaning toward re-signing Tyler Ennis." If the Lakers brought him back, it would bring their roster to 15 players, the league maximum during the regular season, although the team still might waive Tarik Black and his non-guaranteed salary for next season. Teams are also allowed to bring 20 players to training camp. Either way, the point is that the Lakers' roster space is tight, so don't expect many major splashes this offseason, especially if Ennis is re-signed.
Im actually ok with no major signings. Would rather keep the cap space for next year. Also kinda excited to see all the young guys play. Might get a small taste of them in the summer pro league.
Yeah, I coached against him quite a few times when he played for Knight High School in Palmdale. He was criminally underrated back then.
i lived off avenue N in lancaster for a couple of months hard for me to imagine anyone w the means to move away not doing it asap i know there are very nice areas but the weather alone is a deal breaker clearly he has ties to the place but...
James Shields did the same thing a couple off seasons ago when he bought a house in Santa Clarita and told everyone who'd listen he planned to sign with the Dodgers. Yeah, different sport and different guy but still, what he's saying doesn't mean shit yet. To add, if you ever left the house you'd know that when you have a seller over his skis you make your lowball offer, STFU and wait for him to come back to you, with the understanding you may lose out if someone else overpays. It's called real life.
A majority of the fear is that the Celtics will trade for him and he'll like it so much that he'll re-sign. Live in Boston? As a Cali guy you think he'd actually do that I say fuck no. They were just in the news last month for racist remarks aimed at Adam Jones. Or that he'll love it in Cleveland and re-sign there, live in Cleveland yeah right. I'm sure he's heard all the rumblings that LeBron could leave so why on top of the living there reason would he do that kind of thing. The latest thing is that the Clips will get him and that'll fulfill his desire to be here which is total nonsense before the CP3 left but even more ludicrous now. ONE thing is certain starting 12:01 am it's going to be real interesting!!!!!!!!
Paul George will come down similarly to how Ball came down. Ball to the Lakers, then smokescreen, some doubts, more smoke, a few mirrors, lots of doubt, then an explosive trade that changes the landscape, followed by Ball to the Lakers. thing is as much as i loathe boston its not a bad city to live in when it comes down to it not sure about the racist thing but its an extremely liberal city as far as politics goes the food is good and the fans love their teams in fact thats all they live for and for sure he would be adored for year if he played even close to his ability i think its a real chance he stays there if he plays there a year
Isn't it 12:01 EST, meaning 9:01 PST? I keep reading that George is still telling everyone he still wants to be in LA in 2018, so im still confident he will be here in LA. I did read that Laker MGT will be making a few FA acquisitions but they will be strategic as to the FA signings in 2018. I am curious to see who and what that is. Just red that Korver is a FA, that would be nice to have him off the bench.
