i hope we can get the Japanese kid. the farm needs some reconstruction. money wont be the issue, its whether he wants to leave as a kid to a different country and be in the minors an face that grind. pairs up nicely with the Mexican kid we signed, 2 arms we can hopefully count on by the end of the decade.
hansen had to go. it was obvious.

IDK if Mickey can teach anyone to hit. He can put some heart and a little insanity to this lineup. He was never great AB...except in 88, when all the magic was wearing blue.
But they might give it to him.
Never fear....Ned will come through. As always.
And for more blasphemy...if Wallach is chosen by the RS as new skip, I don't think it's a tremendous loss. As much as I admire the guy, and liked him as a player, he flat out fucked up sending runners, and not, more than once this year.
He's probably better as a manager than coach.
And not a sexual thing at all, but just how good is the trainer? After listening to Showalter's excellent post loss press conference, it made me think, doe she have what it really takes to get 'em back out there? Functioning?
    Just asking...

I just hope if we do get him he pans out. Dice K comes to mind, and we'll have to see with Darvish. Hopefully he can be solid his whole career.

If we land him of course. If someone else gets him, I hope he sucks against us.

I think that there is a difference in that you are getting a kid who has thrown well and is really young. He would go in our farm system and they would begin tweaking his mechanics to make him more MLB ready. Without roids, you cannot add 5 mph to a fastball. That is all God-given. I say sign his ass quick and in a hurry.

they wouldn't tinker with the mechanics much. its the approach, throwing on 5 days rest, not so taxing on the arm, have him throw inside more. letting him get used to the culture so by the time he is up on the majors its not even a problem.

Perhaps. I also wonder if there is contrast between throwing to Asian high school students and those in the US. Either way, I think better
results than those that come to the US after years of pro ball in Japan.

fuck that. its not a question of could we make that move, its just that we flat out shouldn't. He will be useless in 2 years once he can't spend more than half the season on the field

He's already 37. I know Ned loves the old guys, but I think even he isn't this stupid. We have enough star power in the lineup. You need to have some balance. And I think just going out and getting a guy like that would put the "buying championships" thing over the top. Kemp, Ethier, and Ellis would be the only remaining 'Dodgers' in the lineup. And add the fact that he's always injured and is a declining choke artist, let cochito play and make Kemp/Ethier/Gonzo/Ramirez earn their checks.

Luckily I think this was just dumb speculation. I just checked...A Rod has 5 years left? Holy cow. Hell nah!

A-Rod is now a .270 hitter with declining power, getting paid like like he's the best player in baseball. OPS under .800 this season. He's 37 and owed 120M over the next 5 seasons. All he is now is a name imo.
