    where is all the worrying about our financial flexibility coming from?
    the owners have yet to show any restraint on spending
    what makes you think they won't/wouldn't for arguably the best pitcher in the nl?
    greinke is younger and better than kuroda
    and I don't agree with keeping rotation spots warm for anyone
    win now should be the mentality
    you can never have too much (good) starting pitching
    just my :2cents:

    Good for you dude. The guy hit .297 with us, pretty much what he hit in Boston, and everybody is calling for his head. He admitted problems with his swing and that he was trying too hard. People need to give him a chance to adjust. Same goes for the entire heart of the lineup. All it's going to take is one spring training together. There's a reason all the experts predicted us going to the world series. They were just a little premature. Wait till you see what we do next year!

    sure they havent said what's the spending limit, but you can be sure there's one... maybe is not $50M like with Frank, but I dont think you'll see a $300M payroll... not with the luxury taxes and definitely not without filling the stadium for 4M in attendance. I also think about "win now", but win now with the right pieces... go ahead and compare Kuroda and Greinke and other than Ks, HiKu had better numbers across the board, and that was pitching in hitter's playground YS...

    Again, I dont hate Greinke, but I dont fall for the "sexy names"... you need to evaluate the market and decide who's the better option for the team...

    Going to agree and disagree with both of you. We should sign both of them. Not sure what we're going to get from Lilly or Billingsley next year, and I'm not comfortable with Capuano or Harang to be honest. I'd like to acquire Cliff Lee but the Phillies will probably want too much in return. Same with the Rays and Shields. Peavy could be a nice stop-gap. You have to admit, a rotation of Kershaw/Greinke/Beckett/Kuroda/Peavy would be pretty formidable.

    greinke has proven to be a top of the rotation starter over several seasons and, again, is 9 years younger

    Get fucking Greinke. If we go for a middle guy than it should be Kuroda.

    I'm sure I could, but they probably ask for guys like Reed, (Zach) Lee, Pederson and Puig in return. And with bottomless pockets, I'd rather spend on free agents and not give up ANY of our top prospects.

    Actually, the Angels attendance is worse than ours. That stadium is empty all the time. It's just smaller and the seats aren't bright yellow.
