You're starting to take it too far. It's not even light hearted fun with you anymore. It sounds like you're just being a dick.

    Come on bro.

High school pitcher Shohei Otani, 18, is being courted by every NPB team and at least three Major League teams, reports WEEI.com's Alex Speier. The Red Sox, Dodgers and Rangers have all sent representatives to Japan to meet with Otani, and Gerry Fraley of the Dallas Morning News notes that the Orioles also have interest in the right-hander.

Despite his young age, Otani is already 6'4" and 190 pounds and owns a fastball that has been clocked in the 99-100 mph range. MLB teams wouldn't have to pay a posting fee to sign Otani as he isn't contracted to any Japanese pro team.

Come on down Otani-san. Would obviously never would have happened if we didn't have new owners. Hey Magic have you ever been to Japan?

dear lord 99 at 18, but the posting fee will screw things up. but the farm needs to be replenished. we traded a lot of arms and our rotation out of kershaw is old. lee will make his away as the #3 when beckket is done with us.

this article does well to explain something so complicated. I asked Shaikin if he has any info but this is what i have found for now. baiscally that new internatinal rule thing applies, but like before money doesnt bother us and signing this kid wont rely on that, its whether he wants to leave as a kid. anyways this says we are the leaders, should he want to leave

We are were about 22nd in farm system before the trades of Eovaldi, Sands, RDR, Webster, Martin, Landry, and Lindblom and the acquisitions of Puig, Seager, Paco, Garcia, and Valentin.

In essence, we traded the aforementioned for Ramirez, Gonzalez, Crawford, Punto, League, and Beckett. Not a bad deal.

We have probably fallen to 23 or 24 depending on how much better those below us became. That said, grabbing IFAs is smart money. Let me explain. With Puig, we could be getting a top five pick in the draft for money. Same with Otani. I would dare say that an 18 year old that throws that hard and has off speed stuff to go with it would have been grabbed very very very early. Think about the hype of Strawsburg and what he came in and did. No, I am not suggesting he is the same but to be even a number 2 in a few years for cash is a fucking great deal. We get the players without having to give up our best hitters and we do not have to lose close to 100 games to acquire them. We are getting smarter. We are thinking ahead. Kasten and Ned have managed to maintain a decent farm while putting a group on the field that can win games now. We keep drafting and getting IFAs.
