My top two choices are Greinke or Peavy. Like MZA said, I'd be happy if we got Greinke but it's not the end of the world if we don't. I'd welcome Kuroda back too.

Everyone is ready to pull the plug on Harang and give Capuano a free pass. I am not sure I agree with this. In relative numbers, Harang did a bit better. However, SO/BB, Capuano is clearly the winner. That said, Capuano at the at end did not look like Capuano at the beginning. You have to think he is getting stronger and will go longer next year. That said, he is also getting older. Harang had the lowest ERA of his career. Lower than in SD. We are not getting five aces as much as all of us want it. We need to have a rotation that can eat innings and be durable. That is why we cannot count on Bills. I would LOVE to have him back but I just do not see it happening. After Kershaw is a blank slate. Beckett has a job but it may just be 5th starter. I have to think that Harang has a job. Ned seems to love the guy and he did look good on more than one occasion. I agree that Lee, Fife, and Ely are not going to be starters for us. I could, however, see Fife moving to the pen.

We need two starters. Period. We cannot walk into next year hoping people will stay healthy and pitch well. I do not see us targeting Greinke. Pitching does break and he seems to have moments of utter failure. I like going after Peavy and Sanchez. Hell, I like Kuroda. If Ned has the resources, we should be grabbing two number 2 starters and daring the rest to take the last two slots. I have to wonder if Capuano would be willing to move to the pen. Probably not but it could revitalize his career. We need another lefty and he can go multiple innings. He can also face both sides of the plate.

    I personally like:

    Kershaw/Peavy/Sanchez/Harang (he has a contract people)/Beckett

Bottom line both Cap and Harang are replaceable and I think they will be despite having 1 year left on their contracts. I like Annibal/Grienke/Peavy/Lohse amongst the free agent pitchers in that order. I want Beckett back so I did not include him in my list.

He has a club option for next year. 9 mil with a 1.5 mil buyout.

    shouldn't matter
trade the worthless ape for whatever you can get
eat salary if you have to
harang makes $7MM next year (rapuano makes $6MM) -- that's chump change to walter who has said on numerous occasions that spending money is not an problem
kershaw/beckett/peavy/greinke/sanchez (bills) is a lot better than any rotation with harang and crapuano in it
    just my :2cents:

pitching is pretty much gonna dominate the season. i can see the team just dumping harang but im not so sure they want to. brining back guerra and belli is gonna cost, and then we need that lefty, its gonna be choate or somebody else. thats gonna bring payroll up already from what it is. going out and getting another starter preferably a 1 yr guy kuroda would be ideal. i like marcum more than peavy(this year was his first healthy year in long time and he is mr 6 innings) most of these guys would require multi year deals.

I like Harang better than Cap. At least he didn't crumble in big games all the time down the stretch.

    hmmm...

By Mike Axisa [October 5 at 7:25pm CST]

It appeared as though Shane Victorino's days with the Dodgers were numbered when they acquired Carl Crawford, but today GM Ned Colletti told Steve Dilbeck of The Los Angeles Times that bringing him back for 2013 has not been ruled out.

“You never know what’s going to happen,” quipped Colletti. “Use your imagination.”

Crawford is rehabbing from Tommy John surgery but is expected to be ready early next season. Matt Kemp had shoulder surgery today and is also expected to be ready in time for Opening Day. Either way, the Dodgers are locked into those two as well as Andre Ethier on big money contracts. There doesn't appear to be a spot for Victorino, who reiterated to Dilbeck that he wants to play everyday.

“I’m not taking a back seat to nobody," he said. "Not in a negative way am I saying that. I still feel like I can play every day and that’s my goal. I don’t know who came up with the mindset that all of a sudden that I’m not an everyday player."

Victorino, 31, hit .245/.316/.351 with the Dodgers and .255/.321/.383 overall this season. He is scheduled to become a free agent for the first time in his career this winter, and he is working to hire a new agent after recently dropping ACES. Victorino could be a more affordable alternative to top outfield free agents Michael Bourn and B.J. Upton.

Victorino doesn't want to come back anyway. He wants to start everyday. Not going to happen when Crawford is healthy.

If they don't care about Crawford, then get Hamilton instead lol.

My utter disdain and disrepect has gone from the red zone to breaking the end of the glass thermometer, like in the cartoons now. "Use your imagination"? You pompous, Pillsbury Dough Boy looking, porno-stashed, luckiest motherfucker on earth douchebag.
Another failure like all his past others this season, and this is what he comes up with for the fans, the 3 million plus that pay his salary and all the rest of us out there.
    Filthy rat scum shithead.
And "more affordable"? Do we care? We are trillionaires now...get EVERYONE !!!

If you use Windows go to the Start menu in the bottom left then under Programs > Accessories > System Tools there is a program called Character Map

Basically it's a program in the same area as Disk Defragmenter - but I digress. I always create a shortcut on the desktop to this program because I'm a graphic designer of sorts. It looks like this...

Set the font to Arial. Double click on any letters or symbols you want and they will appear in the bottom. Then hit the little copy button (or highlight them and use Ctrl + c).

Go back online and press ctrl + v (paste) and the letter will appear :)

    That's it!

Note: you can also highlight the é from anywhere online and copy (ctrl + c) and paste (ctrl + v) into anything.

On a Mac it's easier, but I don't remember the key strokes to do it.
