LOL, I was thinking we just have to win the whole goddamn thing. So I guess, technically, there are two ways out of this.

 

How did that come to be? You seem too far away from it all to hate Boston. I mean, you're not wrong, they should be hated tremendously, and after the Angels there's no AL team I hate more.

Internationally, that curse shit in 2004 got media play (the curse where their racism and bigotry halted any progress) even here in New Zealand. They (somehow) have the fighting, loveable underdog tag.

Basically when someone realises what a huge baseball fan I am, people use the Red Sox and their imaginary fandom as a way to make conversation with or banter with me. Outside of a Yankee fan who I deal with professionally, and is an American from New York, I find it insulting that they even make the effort. Then the Red Sox win every couple of years, which.makes it worse.

 

Basically, they couldn't name a single player, but feel the need to rub "their" most recent Ws win in. Always the Red Sox.

I'm the kind asshole who you like to wind up, but I in no way find my baseball team losing amusing in a single way.

I can't tell you how many times in mixed company, the snicker comes out about the Giants, progresses then to the giggles...and when it all dies down, they look at my face, and remark " I guess he doesn't think it was so funny". Nope.

Familia's had his meltdowns in big spots.

Even as I criticize the team for not trying very hard to knock the Giants out of playoff contention, there is the realization that we are still in control of how this turns out. If we simply win the NLDS and NLCS then it's impossible for Even Year Bullshit to continue.
