The Dodgers should just forfeit the entire series against SF (since we are going to lose anyway). Rent a cabin in Arrowhead, and recharge... get their heads on straight. This is shaping up to be the most depressing season of all time. Do something, anything to get out of this funk.
We just need Curtis Granderson and Logan Forsythe hitting back to back. That will get us the W - Dave Roberts
You're now where I was last weekend when I suggested Seager buy a tiger and leave it in JT's hotel room I was sort of half joking when I said " lets not lose 18 of 20 ", but uuuuuuuuuh, yeah.
FUCKTARDS did the same thing last year with Jim Johnson, trotting in that gascan game after game, then Hatcher and Romo this year... But at least those, albeit painful, were more short lived. Forsythe, OTOH, their triumphant offseason move and ExRay savior, has to play the whole fucking season? GTF over yourselves and let Barnes have the gig. The only thing Forsythe is good for should be to stand there like a fucking statue and attempt a "pinch walk" for relief pitcher and nothing else. POS! Why is it they can do the right thing with some hacks but not this absolute horror show?????
Also worth keeping in mind Chris Taylor was destined for the minor leagues, before he was reinstated because of an injury. Cody Bellinger was to get a taste of the majors, and then be sent back down even after his first string of homer runs. Alex Wood wasn't assured a rotation spot and came out of the pen, due to an injury. Basically, our miracle run was a consequence of players performing in spite of the organization, not actually part of the plan. The credit comes for accumulating this depth, not the intellect as to when to use it. We still let HOFer Eibner and an assortment of other losers frivolously waste AB's. Gutierrez plugged in the cleanup spot mercilessly. Romo pitch major league innings. Don't even get me started on Forsythe. But despite this shitstorm, these guys found a way to win. Their reward? After a dominating season, here's Curtis 7-70 Granderson to take your position Joc and Kike. Hey Cody, head out to right please, we've got Mr SLG% himself Adrian playing first. We know you've never played there, but what's the worse that could happen? Puig, our actual right fielder. Let's get a look at Dre right. Wouldn't want you to face playoff caliber pitching like Greinke before the playoffs. Culberson, Segedin, that other fat fuck who got a game in LF and fell over. Fuck me. We wonder what happened to this team? I bet you our actual team is wondering this too. Basically, Dave and the F.O tried to get too clever. When in reality, the teams succession has been a perfect storm. These guys did great trading and drafting these guys, but they're absolutely clueless as to how to use them without their hand being forced.
Soon we will see the right lineup up there. Taylor Seager Turner Bellinger Puig Barnes Ethier/Platoon Grandal/Platoon Pitcher Barnes becomes a regular starter. Some games at C and others at 2B but generally a starter and when not starting pinch hitting. Grandal and Utley being his partners that platoon for him, with Forsythe there too I guess. Ethier is in the same boat as Grandal and should be a part time starter with somebody relieving him vs lefties. More than likely that would be Logan or Kike unfortunately. Leaving little opportunity for a PH spot at the end of the roster for a guy like Joc, Grandy or Verdugo.
Even when they pitch good, they get pulled after five with a mid 80 pitch count. When you're not conditioned to pitch deep, it must be hard to pitch deep. I know it's an excuse, but the quick leash has been used all year.
Injury history of the starting staff obviously has a lot to do with that. Need to develop some starters that aren't made of paper mache.
Nothing to contribute, bro. What I've posted all year and been told how wrong I was, on so many levels, is what Dodger fans now endure on a daily basis. I guess I could make another joke about Joc and his appetite, but as I look at this historic and utter collapse, probably the worst ( but not only) thing that could have happened to this team in overview, is Roberts getting MOY. It only cements and precludes his tenure for seasons to still come...and the legacy of ultimate failure bolstered heavily for the future.
Tell me why Roberts went to the mound to console Buehler rather then going to the umpire and screaming something like, "WTF are you looking at??? Those were straight down the middle, DO YOUR FUCKING JOB!!!!!" ? He didn't do it for JT earlier in the week either. Doc's fucking Kumbaya bullshit needs to stick to the pressers and end on the field.....
Didn't someone post a link to a story about how Lasorda once came out of the dugout to complain about a call, but all he ended up doing was talk about an Italian restaurant that sucked and didn't have a good wine list, and the umps had to try as hard as they could not to laugh. Lasorda just did it to have the umps eject him because he wanted to give a spark to the team. He almost begged the umps to eject him. Roberts could learn from that story.
Tommy earned the ability to do all that he did with the Umps because he was a real dude who respected the Umps on his way up as a manager and built up that trust. Dave is still pretty much a rookie out there. Let him earn his chops with these guys before he starts kicking dirt on their shoes.
so i notice there are a few Dodger threads in my FB feed lot of emotional morons, the kind that cheer pop flies but i was wondering if anyone thought it was a good idea to invite them over here? i know we probably slice and dice them but could be a diversion from our misery...
