    We've said this before, but we absolutely cannot have relievers coming in with a decent lead and walking batters. If you can't avoid that, you're not a professional ballplayer and shouldn't be here. Simple as that.

    Yep, that about sums it up. And an Outman walk and stolen base followed by a Mookie hit provided an insurance run that was needed.

    I know they have been getting a lot of ptaise tnese days, but the BP is less than stellar of late.
    After a fine game by Julio, Vesia comes in, puts men on base everywhere, Graterol lets two of them to immediately score , and then Phillips lets two more get in next inning, but Freeman's quick thinking bales him out. If that didn't have the makings of a come-back walk off win, nothing did. Thank all dieties for this offense. And D
    Although, very concerning imo, was not so much the Vesia and Graterol performances... I fully expect that from them.
    But Phillips in the closer spot, a well rested Phillips at that, pitching like that 3 runs ahead in the ninth is a little eyebrow raising.
    I don't see an alternative to him to close games. Unless one of the kids steps up. Or Buehler. Or something.

    Phillips had a bad game. It happens to the best of them. Not concerned at all. Graterol gave up a ground ball single and a bloop single. Vesia continues to be a crap shoot.

    I'm more concerned that Julio can put two good games in a row together (I don't count anything against the A's).

    Hopefully Treinen makes it back this year and can help out in late innings. I know he was supposed to be done for the year but apparently he doesn't think so.

    Vesia is a big problem. He just can't be trusted. I wish he'd be sent down when CK returns, but he's the lefty out of the pen so probably stays. Victor just got called back up, but he's not the answer either - he had more walks than K's in OKC.
