Batting them lower in the order would be acceptable IMO. They really are the worst hitters on the team. Like 7th or even 8th! I think we all are more confident with runners on when Ellis or Hairston are up there.
at least rivera has the occasional threat of a HR loney doesn't even possess the threat of breaking a nail
This is the exact and only reason I prefer Rivera in there over Loney fulltime. He can hit an important HR occasionally and he's been a better 2nd half hitter, which may kick in at anytime.
Another "winning" streak comes to an abrupt end...there were plenty of chances to score, and it was the ultimate resulting fail, as usual, which prevailed with us. And it wasn't only Loney. The shit luck continues and always will, as long as this team is assembled by the likes of the person who has been doing so for years. In two weeks, it's gone from asslicking promises for the GM, right back to the same lame offense it has been for years. This League pickup, as I previously wrote, is another Ned joke. The guy has sucked from his 2nd appearance on. His first name should be Little instead of Brandon. Guess they'll probably give him a couple of more years, since the other signings in the BP are nowhere to be found. I'm sure there are those who can make an excuse for every POS signed. Oh, and he had 39 saves in the past, which means so much in the Dodger psyche--what they did before with another team, even if they are limping and spiralling downward big time. We'll always live in the past I think, in so many ways. What a shitty loss, with all those men on base in the first two innings. I wanted to get Blanton, I admit, but I judged him on how he pitched against us....always a mistake. Never judge a pitcher on what he does with us. We make every scrub in MLB look like a CY candidate. Like Whitey Herzog said, "the Dodgers? Those assholes can't hit". Can't get an RBI when we need it either.
