    In the bottom of the 18th Joe Buck excitedly asked Smoltz “If the Red Sox win where does Eovaldi go down in Red Sox lore?”

    The moment I heard that I thought:

    1. Eovaldi (even though he pitched great) is a well rested starting pitcher going 5-6 innings in one game, so no, that’s not an amazing postseason gut it out performance that will put him in the conversation with Koufax, Hershiser, and Randy Johnson (and honestly, I think Smoltz was thinking the same thing)

    2. If the Sox lose right now, that comment will make Joe Buck look like an ass hat

    3. Joe Buck is an ass hat

    Yes...but even though Buck s of the gluteus maximus chapeau persuasion, the media was flocked around him en masse as if he just won the game in the 18th, not lost it.
    The.guy who did win it in the 18th, had one or two.

    It’s gonna be hill, I think it’s the Dodgers playing some gamesmanship with the Red Sox since the Red Sox aren’t announcing their starter either

    yeah, she's a keeper

    Side note. It's incredible how horrible the local news pre and post game packages are. I will never complain about Fox Sports 1, SportsNet LA, MLBN or ESPN ever again ( well, I probably will). The local Fox 11 crew is as cringe as it gets. Like high school morning announcement level bad

    that's actually not harsh enough
    they're like out of touch teachers trying to incorporate lingo they should never use
    "hey marge, did you happen to see jimmy's swag accoutrements? they're actually quite dope!"
    and their banter back and forth is amateurish and idiotic
    goes back to the old question... how do these idiots get hired

    The worst though is Liz Habib. She's not only horrible, but full of herself. I remember when Stan Kreonke bought the land in Hollywood Park, she had the Mayor of Inglewood on to talk about the proposed stadium deal. The Mayor stated the stadium would be 100 percent privately financed (which is true), but once X amount of revenue is generated for the city, a percentage of that revenue would be reimbursed to the Rams to cover the cost of road work. She tried to pull "gotcha" journalism, like the mayor was lying about tax money being used. She could not get it through her skull that the only public funds used would be from a surplus generated from the stadium itself. He tried and tried to explain it, and it looked like he was going to hop through the screen and murder her (wish he did, tbh). She ended with, "Wow, he's clearly upset, but I'm just trying to expose the truth and he doesn't like it". lol. Chick thinks she's an investigative journalist when she can barely read a prompter.

    Just watched the replay...after Blue Max did it, when everyone was hugging and patting him on the back, Jansen said, with deep psychological gravitas and irony, " thank you".
