    Hitters took most of the night off. Nice night for Max, but a horrible AB in the 10th. Rare to see him chase a pitch high out of the zone like that.

    If this game is a portend of the near future, then our needs at the deadline have not only exponentially increased, but shows once again, ( aside from really weak pitching by the bp and horrible bp use by the manager in the loss ), that against only decent pitching at best, the offense is not the juggernaut it appears.
    Y'know like what we would face in the post season, should we make it.

    Before the game, Dave Roberts said J.D. Martinez was available to pinch-hit today for the Dodgers. Did he forget about that? Because he seemed like the obvious choice to have pinch-hit in the 8th inning with the bases loaded and two outs instead of Miguel Rojas.

    "You know, we thought Rojas-y was the right guy in that situation. He had one nice swing in his last AB and hit at least 2 line drives during BP before the game. We felt like he was due for a big knock."
