It really depends on the league's perception on Chapman right now. The Yanks got him for a bucket of baseballs because of the looming suspension. I think he'd be worth more now since that's not hanging over him.

Miller on the other hand is going t be a steep price to pay regardless.

Chapmans value in trade is tied to his pending free agency so if I were the Yankees I wouldn't ask for the moon like they would for Batances. I think they only deal Chapman. The Yankees are too stubborn or stupid to admit they are out of it, lol.

One thing every WS championship team has in common - they all won without Clayton Kershaw. You don't give up because of one guy.

    From Crasnick of ESPN:

#Dodgers are "Big Game Hunting,'' says a rival exec. They're looking for impact moves, not incremental upgrades.

Translation: #Dodgers might be motivated to pursue Chris Archer, even though he's struggled. Odorizzi, Smyly-type deals ... not so much.

#Dodgers have $$ committed to Kershaw, McCarthy, Ryu, Kazmir and Maeda beyond this year. They don't need another mid-rotation starter.

Yeah, Archer for sure, especially on that contract of his.
Get him and let Honeycutt work out the kinks.

I'll believe when I see it but yeah, they don't need a filler type dude.

So hard to tell what the rotation needs though to be honest, cause of the current uncertainty of health. But always prepare by having more pitching then you think you need

Chris Archer is definitely "big game".

I still think a "big game" hitter is more important though; preferably an outfielder.

    Big game...bring em back alive.
    Rhino
    Elephant
    Leopard
    Lion
    Cape buffalo, the most dangerous.
After the deadline, we will see who they did get, if anyone, compares with the African Big Five.

Love it. We'll see who is available though....the market isn't that impressive to be honest.

    Could you imagine?
Arte wouldn't allow it though, even if we offered the house

"The house" probably means losing Seager.

I think you put Holmes in that and you would have something where the Angels should at least think about it.... Wonder what a swap of AGon for Pujols would do in an offer? Also, I know that this is never happening.

If their first offseason proved anything, expect the unexpected with this FO.

I swear I was thinking the same thing. But I'd hope we would just DFA Albert and pay him off in full. Not saying I'd do it, but I was thinking the same thing.

I could see them doing something entirely insane and totally unthought of. Like it has been said, supposed "Big Game" is not really out there, so who besides Archer are they looking at? They apparently have no interest in Braun, btw.
