Geez, timing in life is everything. If things stay the same for the 9th, we’re back down t0 2.5 games back of the Gnats.
Actually we look at the Mets like they are pure garbage and we should have gone 6-1 against them in the last seven. But I think we were a bit fortunate to catch them when we did...I mean these last four were squeakers and a Met laugher...would it have been that way with Lindor and Baez in the lineup and Synndergard and deGrom in the rotation ? Not saying we couldn't beat them, but we barely did, even without those guys. I mean we don't have everyone either, but we had a lot more of our pieces than they did theirs, tbh. Anyway...let's go Mets!!!
I don’t feel sorry for them at all, we were down Mookie, Kershaw, May, plus countless bullpen pieces for those games too.
Low IQ player. I'd bet the culprit on that play was Belli. Add that to grossly overthrowing the cutoff man earlier in the game.
No, I don't feel sorry for them at all...there's no crying in baseball. I mentioned our problems, too. But when they got just one player back, they rolled right over us, no problem. I just feel we caught a break when we played them, that's all.
I didn't catch any post-game interviews to see if Dave was asked about that situation, but I agree. Can't imagine any manager making that call in a 2 out situation after sending up a pinch hitter for your pitcher. Also, can't say I remember seeing anything blatant about Belli being a low IQ guy recently, but both of those scenarios yesterday certainly fit the description.
per reddit/dodgers: roberts said it was a miscommunication on his part he wanted the straight steal from cody, not to stop and try to draw a throw i have nothing to base this on... but i'm betting this is roberts taking the blame for cody's stupidity
That's how I read it. Have a hard time envisioning anyone with that perpetual blank look on his face like Bellinger has being very bright.
