Yes, Outman surprising fielding problem (I worry about his hitting, not his glove) clanking that catchable shot was a deep cut, he's one of my favorites and Kershaw was simply at his worst.
But looking at their faces, before a game which was their first step towards a WS, is really my point.
Grim, no smiles. Betts looks like a different guy...nothing from FF...CK looking worrisome on his way out of the dugout...Idk, maybe I'm imagining it all.
Not reflecting a bunch of millionaires mind you, getting ready to play a boys game for even more money.
Just not generating the excitement they should be...for themselves or the faithful.

Peralta's little dance on the double with 2 outs while trailing 9-0 was as embarrassing as it gets......first round KO by the snakes last night. Losing back to back division round series to a division foe that you dominated would be the ultimate failure....how can anyone ever get excited about anything the Dodgers do in the regular season again? Only hope for tomorrow is if the Dodgers get a lead early on.....if Arizona takes the lead early on, I fully expect this team to roll over and die. No fight back...not a chance

    more davey

“I think I’ve been guilty of not appreciating the rhythm of the game in the postseason and trying to essentially err a little bit on being proactive instead of being reactive, which I don’t apologize for that,” Roberts said. “But I think that getting to know your players more and just — not saying that you don’t trust the player but trusting certain players, and also you can speak to trust who you have coming into games and more specifically to the pitching side.”

    ok moron

Not taking in the emotional effect on a start of the game the uber error that Outman made, that error, cut and dried statistically, means the Dodgers would have lost 10-2 instead of 11-2.
More interestingly, perhaps revisiting his crucifixion, the beleagured Clayton Kershaw, when compared with some other double Cy Young award winners in the post season, I find fascinating...
    CK is 13-13 with a +4 ERA.
    Koufax is 4-3/.095 ERA
    Seaver 3-3/2.77
    Carlton 6-6/3.26
    Glavine 14-16/3.30
    R. Johnson 7-9/3.50
    Scherzer 7-7/3.69
I see no one so spectacular in this list, in fact, as mediocre as it gets...and notably, universally stroked Braves icon, Glavine, worse.
So, what does it all mean ?
Means a great pitcher went out there and had a horrendous day, at a terrible time.
And in Dodger lore, the beat goes on and on, as always.

Kershaw was the primary goat of game 1 and there's not much that can be said in his defense, other than perhaps we're asking too much of him with his arm in this condition at this point in his career. We all want him to be dominant like he was during the regular season, but maybe that's just not possible anymore.

What really irks me about Roberts, though, is that he never takes responsibility for the team coming up short. Prior to game one, he was quoted as saying the team would be ready to play and followed that up by insisting that they were ready for San Diego in last year's LDS. Um, no, they definitely were not ready in that embarrassment last year and four hits against Merril Kelly shows that they weren't ready for the first game this year, Kershaw meltdown notwithstanding.

Look, for those that say it's not the manager who's not hitting, and it's not the manager who's not pitching well: True. But year after year we can find a different player or players to blame, and then the next year there's a new set of players to blame. At what point though do we realize that maybe it's not just the players, but the guy who's supposed to be their leader that is to blame? If a general leads a group of soldiers into battle, and they get annihilated, and next year he brings a new group of soldiers to war, and they too get wiped out, and battle after battle ends the same way, sooner or later the people are going to realize that it might not just be that the soldiers can't fight well. It might be that the general can't lead well.

I can't help after reading a statement like that ( and so many others), feeling the FO has considerations other than the ones we as fans do.
And Dave fills that spot for them perfectly.
The moronic core and blatant conceit of it matters not at all.
    To them.
But then again, any sycophant who manages LA would put asses in the seats...let's face it. It's just the way it is. And for at least a decade, the team has been loaded with talent and has had a really good chance of post season play. So any excuse for a manager could probably fare quite well in post season appearances as the criteria, I believe.
    So yeh.
    Fuucckk Dave more than ever.

Sure would've been nice to play last night and try to erase the bad taste from game 1. The scheduling makes no sense to me...no excuses for that shit show of a performance in game 1 but Manfred really caters to the WC teams with this dumbass scheduling.

    have little faith for tonight
only way we win is if miller throws a no-no and az issues four straight walks

    edit:
    nvm
even if miller has a no-no going, einstein will pull him after six innings/60 pitches
