162 games means absolutely fucking nothing. Along with 4 players with 100 rbis and Mookie and Freeman and the rest of the 100 win superlatives.
Just exactly what I really expected from Kershaw, too. Not quite this bad, but bad. The team just doesn't get up for the big prime time, and doesn't have the motivation or the motivator.
Dave Roberts for manager of the year, for sure.
I guess we wallow in it.

 

I don't know how it happens with talent like his, but lately...Mookie is barely even a factor at all.

Was thinking along those lines myself...but really, in analysis, Kershaw's pitches flat out sucked. Sucked. ML players can hit 89 mph right down broadway all day long.
Even the shitty ones.
And what's with our lineup, then? We know the pitching obviously sucks, but Kelly's pitching a shutout now?
Just a complete all-around fail. Pitching gets scrambled...lineup looks like dead shit. Same old story. The loser's drone.
How long is this shit supposed to go on ?

 

can't blame this on davey but man those are some pretty uninspired ab's

if its all about the money then at least have these be 7 game series and not 5
usually the wild card team was on a roll and then come out of the wc series fully pumped as they should be
just seems a 7 game series would have the best team come out on top
lose the first game and immediately your up against it and everything change
oh and fuck off CK that was as weak as you've ever been

I guess you can't blame it on him, but is this the same script we've seen before ? Over and over...come in with a malaise ridden, uninspired 100 win team again when it counts the most ?
He can take cream of the crop, top shelf roster elements and annually make an inevitable, embarrassing pile of shit out of them is quite a knack Davey's got going there...
The format, created by the button pushers, fair or not, ridiculous or clever, is what we've got. It's the house we all have to live in, and the shortcomings are all the same for everyone. And within those parameters, the successful teams must be brought to their peak at this exact time...and Dave Roberts, in charge of the LA Dodgers, flat out sucks at it. Adapt or die.
The great LA/ Roberts "clubhouse attitude", ass grabbing, and the NLW regular season success has become a fucking paper tiger verneer that the team wears just too damn often, without fail...it's time for at least an attempt at a change, isn't it ??
What does it matter who is the blame in the end though, some may arguably suggest ?

if they come out tomorrow and go down again and lose the series then yeah he should pay the price but he won't because injuries

if Mookie isn't getting on base seems like everything else shuts down

Mike was at that game in 2014, I think. One of the worst things I've witnessed in sports. Easily Clayton's biggest choke.

 

Only way we get rid of Dave is if there's leaked audio of him saying he didn't vote for Biden (which means he ain't Black and thus can be fired).
