I love Rollins as a stop gap I can't wait to see how the deal ends up being though, sounds like a 3 way deal is possible or potentially even becoming more of a blockbuster deal. Interesting process going on with this one.
Prove me wrong Rollins please. Don't be hurt and hitting 220 all season please. Who do the Phills get from us for this guy anyway?
It's pretty obvious that we made these deals based upon sabermetrics and not the eye test so if you subscribe to the premise that those indicators are a TRUE measure of a players value then you should love getting Rollins. Even at 36 he's still pretty good defensively and of course compared to HanRam he's Ozzie Smith LOL.
The way things are going, the Jimmy Rollins trade will be both our first and last big trade of the Winter Meetings. #whatstheholdup
You could be right but don't we still have 1 extra outfielder? Assuming Joc plays CF and Puig RF with a platoon in LF between CC and SVS. Dre has finally expressed a desire to leave so he'll have to be moved doesn't he?
Zach Eflin, acquired by Los Angeles in the Matt Kemp deal, could be one of the pieces going to the Phillies, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports suggested on Twitter. That is indeed the case, with the Phillies also likely to acquire lefty Tom Windle in the deal, Jim Salisbury of CSNPhilly.com reports on Twitter.
^ The trade helps the Dodgers in every way. No, he's not the Jimmy Rollins of 2004-08, but he is still a two-way contributor at a hard to fill position with big market chops, and he fills a need for a year until Seager is ready. It's a great fit for everyone, really. The Dodgers get a stopgap shortstop, the Phillies get two young pitchers to help their rebuild, and Rollins get another shot at a ring. It's a win-win-win.
Dre may have complicated things last week when he said he wants to be starter next year wherever that is. Trick now is to find a wherever that wants him to start for them.
Deal is finished. We got cash also I hope Rollins does well next year cause he seems like such a fun guy to root around when he's doing great. That sounds like a kind of dumb and obvious sentence but I'm happy to have him.
hell of an addition for both a club that has dominant pitching and so many young impact players on the way up that he can help out with.
Rollins told his agent that he'd only approve a trade to the Dodgers. I think that had been reported already but still, it's worth remembering how Jimmy really wanted to be a Dodger. Very cool
