MLB Stat of the Day @MLBStatoftheDay 10h10 hours ago In 202 PAs with the @Dodgers, Zack Greinke is batting .251. In that same time span, hitters are .227 off him. #BOSS
Zeinke's going to continue his tear, win NLCS and WS Mvp and come in 2nd place in the NL Cy Young award to Kershaw. Then the mudda fuckas getting paid!!!
He may not be younger, but he is better than any other option out there. Anyone else is a downgrade. Letting him walk so they can get a less competitive and less dominant guy would be stupid and they'd still be in the same boat they are in now but would actually be weaker..... Unless they found another ace for the three spot.
I'd give Zack 6 years and $185M. I don't want to go to 7 years, no chance, no bite from me. Give him a high AAS and call it a day. He doesn't take that, I don't want him as a Dodger. That is plenty of money.
I'd give him $10 less than Kershaw...for whatever amount of years he wants...he probably won't make it to the end of his term anyway; maybe he would...probably not. We don't have to chip in on this, right ? He is as valuable as CK is right now,and will continue to be so for quite a while. I wonder, if he is worth 185 million, is he worth 186 ? Or then, he's just not good enough to be a Dodger, as surely, that is the criteria. Lol.
If you're directing this towards my post, let me make it more clear....$185M is not enough, then I don't want him. Not sayign he isn't worth more, but in my opinion he's not worth it. Look at the track record for free agent pitcher who sign these type of deals....not so good. I want Zack as much as anyone, but there is price and I'd rather pay more per year than to give more years, just that simple.
if zack were someone else's free agent we'd probably be looking at this differently that said, he is still the best free agent starter available i'd take him over price or cueto give him whatever it takes to retain him not like he hasn't earned it
Just my , but if the Dodgers win the WS then Zack might want to hang around for another shot. Who wins a World Championship and then jumps ship?
I love Greinke and I personally think he'll age reasonably well and I want him back but no way I'd give him a 6+ year deal.
Well, there will be many many posts about this. And we'll read every angle and opinion and then some...so it will be. I just can't see letting this guy go after what he has been and done for us. This fucking FO throws money around like a drunken sailor giving millions to this Cuban or Dominican "prospects" just to get them in the system...and even traded one away before he played one fucking inning for us.. We do this type of shit, and people are balking at throwing money at Greinke? Throw heavy bucks at some kid from wherever because he looks good in whatever level...and not do a proven, spectacular player like Zack?? Must be the way "business" is done now in BB.
I am pretty confident that list is very long considering if they did well during that run there would be teams lining up overpay said persons.
