roberts needs to start playing toles regardless small sample size but toles is 3-for-3 against lefties with a hr and 2 rbis
Yup...it's time to end the Reddick experiment and put any performing hitter in RF rather than Reddick. Red needs time to work on things.
YES! Look what Toles and Segedin have done vs Red-Dick. Even some of our pitchers have better BA's! He was acquired because he was supposed to be great with RISP. He's done nothing there. Nada. He needs to get his head on straight and maybe can contribute IF we make the playoffs. But if he continues to be dead weight, we might never get there. The Dodgers have done pretty much everything to get him straight.....including putting him in the cleanup spot for multiple games. What more are we supposed to do for that guy? Extremely frustrating.
Hate to bring this up again, but the losses vs Cincinnati, and the rocks are not good. Nice series vs the cubs and gnats however leaves me wondering how we could lose these must win games. Now the pads and snakes at home followed by a 10 game road trip. And the series vs the Miami team is critical. they swept the Dodgers 4-0 earlier in the year, and that pisses me off. Have to agree with Irish on starting Toles, as he has shown signs of nasty-ness at the plate. This of course is just my thoughts. I love this team, despite what might, or could, or will happen.
I think Toles needs to start more games, but not become a regular yet. There was a good article today about how he has drastically improved, but he is still susceptible to chase bad balls out of the zone. I'd like to see him used in a larger sample size, but not so much that right before the playoffs roll around, teams have him figured out and it's too late to adjust back. If in his larger sample size, he is showing an ability to lay off those bad breaking balls, then break him out more in time for the PO's.
Toles was supposed to be all speed no power. But so far he has more HR that steals. Im pleasantly surprised at that power his displaying. Must have been skinny before.
Yeah. But there's likely a reason he's a minor leaguer. Reminds me of Marlon Anderson in 2006. Ride the train for as long as you can, but it's going to crash.
He was a top prospect for the Rays but ran into issues with his commitment to the game so it wasn't talent and he was bagging groceries before he was signed so I know he won't want to go back. That fear will keep him focused IMO.
It's a nice start but I'd bet some good money it's a hot streak for a AAAA player. He hit a couple of wall scrapers and a homer in Coors. Hope I'm wrong though!
Reddick had two hits yesterday. Jocs been sucking lately, put Toles in Cf for a bit and see if Reddick can build off of last game
