The key to that nonsensical blurb from this jerk is the multiple use of " figure it out". That's not possible with someone with the bb savvy of Roberts. He can't even figure out that maybe, just maybe, after two HRs back to back, that Lynn was throwing candy to those scrubs?
Maybe take him out then, with the bp in good shape and in a " there's no tomorrow " game?
How about after three HRs, then ?
And when the FO reads this kind of drivel, and does nothing about it except back him up, it indicates two things to me...first, winning a WS would be just icing on the supremely important annual 3 million fans cake, and second, we've got Dave for a much longer time.
Expect to be around to see him age even more than he has already...the little puffy chipmunk faced wokie.

I've been pretty against the Dave Roberts hate since day 1.

If you take a step back and look at it without any bias, I don't think he's THAT terrible of an in-game manager. His lineups are pretty good for the most part, but I will say Will should not have been hitting 3rd for a good portion of the second half. Bullpen management has been much better than his first few years. it certainly seems like from the outside, the guys really do love playing for him and the front office seems to like the job he's doing.

However, something has to give at some point. It feels wrong to blame him for Freddie and Mookie disappearing and going 1-21, for Kershaw shitting the bed (AS ALWAYS) and Bobby/Lance getting shit on early (but yes, a quicker hook on Lynn last night was probably necessary, as was starting Pepiot over him IMO).

I don't think a manager really wins or loses you many games during the regular season, it's really about the talent on the field. In the post-season, it's a different story. There were a couple of early years where he made some very questionable (and bad) decisions in the post-season with bullpen management, but he has gotten much better, imo. I don't think his lineup construction has ever been terrible in the post-season.

Candidly, I don't think there are many better options out there at manager, but for me, it just feels like it's time. We keep dominating in the regular season and failing when it matters. I don't know what the answer is in hoping for more success come October - whether it's resting guys more during the regular season so they're ready, pressing the right buttons at the right time with certain hot players, or just saying something different in the clubhouse, but it feels like we need a change of pace.
