    The Dodgers, to me....

...seem like the DISTANT 3rd best team in this league.

The 2013 and 2014 teams were better. Bad defense and all, they were better.

I like our roster flexibility and the bridge that we have to the next core of young guys. But I have zero confidence in this team competing for a WS this year.

I had more confidence in a 2013 team that was 9.5 GB than I do this first place team. The Cardinals and Pirates are sooooooo much better.

I genuinely feel like this team is built to lose in the LDS.

They aren't a Hanley Ramirez non-error or a Kershaw non-meltdown away from the next round this time. This current team lacks so much more.

Their pitching staff is essentially 3 guys. Kershaw Greinke, and Kenley. Puig isn't going to turn in around this year I'm convinced. Pederson is...I don't even know right now. Mattingly is brutal---he will find a Michael Young PH equivalent this post season (if we make it).

I'm very pessimistic about this team. "What else is new" you might say. But I was very confident in our last 2 squads.

2 man starting staff, 1 man bullpen and two of our most talented players are clueless up there.

Oh and the Cardinals and Pirates are way better.

Yeah, I remember the insane stretch the 2013 team had...I really thought they were going to make the WS and have a helluva series vs Boston. I was worried about our pen last year, but I thought that we would beat the Giants/Royals had we not blown two late leads to St. Louis....it really hurt to see the Giants win it all after we dominated them head to head down the stretch. This year though....there is not a single team we could potentially face in the playoffs that I feel good about us facing. I think this team is one of the weakest projected playoff teams and will be lucky to win a round. Definitely didn't feel that way the last two years.

ESPN notification: Kike taking over CF job.

And yeah, our team doesn't inspire any confidence....

This is one of those situations where the FO's unwillingness to make bold moves before the trade deadline totally deflated the team. The subtraction by addition of Latos and Johnson instead of going after Price or Cueto literally sucked the air out of this team....with no confidence that any lead can be kept or keeping a team at least close.

And whoever is coaching up the hitting (yup, McGwire that's you), hate to say it, but you should be fired. To have Joc regress so badly and Puig to be clueless up there, that's on you as much as it is the general lackadaisical attitude of Puig and the cluelessness of Joc.

It's a damn shame really for $300M plus.

And the prospect hugging has to stop. Prospects are just that, prospects. No one can predict their success in the majors or long term value. It is not a science. They are assets, nothing more. A means to an end. And the end is a World Series. FO.....hello in there....the World Series is the end game.

Hey that reminded me when Utley threw the ball in the dugout in that playoff game and we won.

    such a great post :headpat:

    3rd is very generous
could easily make an argument the cards/giants/nats/pirates/mets are all better

    add 2008 and 2009 imo

weak leadership leads to poor performance
not pinning this all on mattingly
but he is a large part of the problem

that's because that team had personality
shameful that there was no retaliation for hanley being hit
should have drilled beltran and/or holliday
but no, our management doesn't believe in that

    and it's not even close

    if we get there
and it's highly suspect given the listless ball we've been playing lately

they lack heart and competent leadership

anderson, latos, wood or bolsinger would be fine... as #5's
puig has no one to get on him, chew his ass out, so he has no discipline and continues to do whatever he wants :dramaqueen:

    i'm not pessimistic at all
this team is a bunch of gutless, heartless, underachieving bkitches
and i am confident... that they will continue to disappoint us

our clueless manager should have been giving joc days off once crawford came off the dl
and every day the opposition started a lefty
you don't have rookies try to play their way out of it
the have no mlb experience to reference, and it can kill their psyche and confidence

edit: i see dbb finally sat him today in favor of kiké
    nice, what month is it?
    fucken idiot

Most people people are going to be very disappointed when they realize Seager isn't the Babe Ruth they think he is. Or want him to be.

I agree to some extent with your post but it seems odd to pan our prospects when Joc is the only one out there at this time. He hasn't made the adjustments necessary but that is part of the process but the great thing about him is that he hasn't brought his offensive struggles to the field. I look forward to seeing what if anything they can do up here but I'm not so optimistic to think they'll be instant successes because as you rightfully pointed out it's not a science.
