offense is trash. Owned by Gio, Owned by Kyle fucking Davies, Jimmy Nelson, Old Adam Wainwright, Carlos Martinez
seriously one of the stupidest starting lineups i've ever seen i wouldn't even start those 8 against the padres you want to start one of gutierrez, kiké, barnes or eibner, fine but not all at the same time sorry, we deserved to lose before the first pitch was thrown
Going to the game tonight and I am prepared for a ton of K's. Hopefully I can keep my one game winning streak on games attended but I'm not holding my breath. Going Saturday too I am so hoping JT is back by then, REALLY need him!!!
The way the lineup is producing of late, it really illustrates how the team can be shut down and always seem to make one mistake pitch after another. IMO, this SR just doesn't have legs for the long haul, and the two games pitched well, two games pitched horribly, then the obligatory DL stint musical chairs just isn't going to get it done. People can blow smoke up Ryu' s whatever...the guy's maybe average, at best. No more. Possibly less. A nice inning or two, then batting practice. He looks no match for the Nationals lineup at all. I think we were very lucky, unusually lucky, against the poor Brewer pitching in the two games we won. Heroics, aided by garbage pitching made it possible. We have one horse, and I guess we'll ride him to the fucking glue factory. The rest have some talent, but are weak, fragile young men, easily broken. It is perhaps the antithesis of logic to criticize Dave, MOY and all, but some of his lineups actually give us only a distant chance to win, if any, like tonight. He just believes that his bench players are way better than they really are. To play them all at once seems utter folly, imo. We'll see...
As tough of match ups as we could have gotten for this series. 1/3 would almost feel like a victory with their top 3 going against us.
and our horse never finishes strong the bet seems to be hope that blister boy gets healthy at the right time and one of ryu, meh and wood can tape themselves together...
last night was our best chance and roberts put out a jv lineup mehcarthy is going to get assraped out there tonight kersh on wednesday... meh, won't matter if we can't score
Yes, it's always that way come the post. I know I've gone at the FO for years, and fought many over what they've done...but really, I can't be the only one who that thinks that by now, after four NLW championships and the post season, we should be a bit more set ? Maybe three actual pro starters and not have to hope and pray this one or that one will recover and be competent after the latest blister, uncomfortable sternum, groin pull, elbow inflamation, jock itch, ovarian cyst, or whatever other ailment from the Dodger menu they're serving up that night. I hate to think we blew all our many chances, and now it's one of these other teams destiny, not ours because we never seized the day.
Have to say that the Nationals look pretty scary. Lineup loaded with talent and the trio of Harper-Zimmerman-Murphy is as good as it gets. Do not want to see them in another playoff series.
file under meaningless stats for tonight... McCarthy has faced 206 batters and given up just 10 extra-base hits this season, and Statcast metrics say he has been hurt with "hard-hit" contact, or balls with exit velocities of 95 mph or more, just 22.8 percent of the time -- the lowest rate among qualified pitchers (min. 100 batted balls). In five regular-season starts at Dodger Stadium, Scherzer is 1-2 with a 3.98 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 31 2/3 innings. Dodgers outfielder Franklin Gutierrez is 4-for-10 against Scherzer in his career, with two doubles and a home run.
