you'd think maybe he could have at least come out of the dugout after the last two awful calls of the game on vargas

That umpire is a sack of shit and Dave Roberts continually proves that he is a fucking pussy who won't stand up for his players

I would have been more upset if I thought Vargas had a chance to get a hit there. He looks overmatched.

Dave is shot...just doesn't have the saavy and instead of getting the best out of his players ( i.e. Bruce Bochy) his over the top expectancy of players eventually renders them ineffective and below their normal performance.
A year with not a super stacked staff as usual has shown his on field managing weaknesses front and center...and it's still a team laden with AS players. Instead of finding the winning strategy, he finds the loser.
No fire, no passion, no toughness. A cowering milquetoast.
The Dodgers have no killer instinct, as witnessed by not taking advantage of AZ losses of late...just struggle to win series against some of the poorest teams in baseball.
    How the mighty have fallen.
    Dave the general in charge.
    Maybe Custer.

Wow...just a palpable malaise over the Dodgers.
The crowd sounds like they're watching golf.

"You know, Freddie is Freddie, but we really liked Vargie in that situation. He's been coming through for us all year and we, uh, felt that was the right spot."

Not many other options when a starting pitcher finishing five innings is the exception. Almost every game turns into a bullpen game.

Glad JD awoke from his slumber for at least one AB.

Hard to believe so much is depending on rookie after rookie on the mound. Plenty in the lineup to, but the mix of veterans still makes it a potent and respectable force.
But when guys like Bickford and Hudson go out there and immediately load the bases with NO outs, in possible game winning situations, you can't blame that on inexperienced kids. Phillips had his shit storm and got scrambled in a terrible loss, and that's not the kid's faults either.
In fact, a rookie, De Luca, could have been the hero.
We'll see how serious and astute the FO remains come the deadline, or whatever is in the works, because we need some serious arm help.
A big question mark is Urias, who looks more like a pile of steaming shit than ever before. He just looks so bad on everything...command, movement ( or lack of), and an alarming drop in velo.
Our rotation's veteran foundation is Gonsolin ???
