I'd be more pissed if we weren't comfortably ahead. I just laughed at it though.

Only a few more regular season Kershaw starts left, and how lucky are we to have witnessed this

Kershaw done, sort of arguing with Mattingly in the dugout about it.

4 hit night for Hanley. If he gets hot, we are going to be hard as hell to beat

On that 3 man error, Ellis' error should probably be changed to Gordon. That was a good throw, Dee just missed catching it.

    Magic numbers: 16 & 11

Kershaw trails Strasburg by just 5 Ks for the NL lead

I don't know about that. But I wouldn't know, because I can't honestly say I've ever completed more than two months of a season on a MLB video game.

My friend and I have a team that we created. Still the Dodgers but we replaced the people we didn't like with players we created. One of the two pitchers we made has a worse record (We don't lose but we have simulated and lost) and era than Kershaw does in real life. We've had many conversations about how real life Kershaw is better than pretend pitchers that are all jacked up on e-roids.

Kershaw in my version of the show sucks.

He always gives up home runs.

Meanwhile I've had Dan Haren take no-hitters deep into games about five times.

i'll gladly forfeit another 6 weeks of Kershaw at the start of next year if this is what it does, keeping him strong to the finish. no hesitation.

and knock on wood, but it looks like we might be getting " post season Carl Crawford " again this year and that fella is NAILS.

Puig is out of control. He truly thinks he throw anybody out from anywhere , regardless of whether it's humanly possible or not. Or whether it's good sound BB. I think we will always have to live with his superman mind set, even when, as now, he is far removed from it. It is what it is.
It was good to see him get a hit/RBI, as it's been a very long time coming.
I hope he can get back to some kind of reasonable contact in the next 3 weeks; the lineup with him an auto out lately is all over the place, but still working. Against these guys, anyway.
I'm not saying the remaining schedule is a walk-over by any means, as the last Cub series so soberingly proved, but sometimes when a team goes into the post having to fight hard to get there, they are sharper than just coasting in against teams they beat up on during the season.
But as Vinny reminded us again, with yet another negstat, we'll probably need all cylinders firing in synch to beat the WC winners we have terrible records against. We just need to be hot...against all comers. That's who wins the post...the hot team...past stats be damned.
But I remember the year were 1-11 against the Mets, and beat them in the post, so it all can turn around in the playoffs.
Looking a the Pads, aside from some good talent on the pitching staff, I covet their catcher Rivera most. I'd love to grab that guy...I like his D and arm, and his bat is solid.
It will never happen though. But AJ seems to be getting worse back there, not better.
Can't help wondering where that position will go to next season for us...

    so true
ideally, you want your team playing well all the time
    but that's not realistic
so you hope for your team to get hot heading into the postseason
being used to playing competitive "playoff type" baseball with each/every game being significant
that's why so wild card teams did so well in the past

I had Zack Greinke in last years MLB the show. I got like 1 month into the season and he threw like five consecutive 1 hit shutouts.
