Meathead Voit was playing on a contender until Hosmer exercised his no trade option.

Now Voit is a National. Bet he won't be sending Hosmer any Christmas cards.

" We made the big splash last year, and it didn't bring a championship "...
So what does that say about you, Dave ?
"There's no one that could make this team any better" .
    More fucking Roberts wisdom.
Damn, this guy can lay the bullshit on and pile it high. Shoulda been a career officer in the army.
    Missed his calling.

And on the Nats, every uniform button has to be buttoned.
    Sucks for Voit.

The White deal is the one gnawing away at me (racist). I don't care about Lamb. Between Taylor and Rios and Thompson and possibly Outman, I think Jake's Dodger days were numbered. But unloading Mitch is just a head scratcher. He's been improving consistently, and I see him having a quality career. At a minimum, he could've strengthened the pen. But okay, I hear you all... management has a plan. I'll keep the faith.

listening to Friedman refer to Outman and Vargas as outey and vargey is super cringe

Tell me what the plan is...please. Bolster my faith. White was a gutsy kid who really helped us. He could've been nails out of the pen.
    Coulda been a contender...

I still remember back when teams had maybe ONE starting player hitting around .225 - only because he was a defensive gem at SS or something.

don't understand fully all the thinking but hard to argue w anything the guy says other than outey and vargey
this team is absolutely insane top to bottom and i think beyond having good players he has good guys
not saying Soto isn't a good guy i have no idea but didn't like losing Lux and May in any deal
in all the years of watching baseball a WS is of course the pinnacle but watching a young player develop is a close second

The one thing that makes me realize that we are in the Golden Age of Hypocrisy, and the Dodgers are firmly entrenched in it, is that AF "made a run at Soto, made a run at JD Martinez, and also a run at a starting pitcher", whowever it was. Then in response to the abject failure of it all, we are told, " the FO is fine with standing pat with what we have and the returning pieces"...IT CAN'T BE BOTH, I say.
Either you tried to improve the team and were in the trade game, or you were standing pat. Wtf?
It's an insult to a fan's intelligence, imo.
    Why the bullshit ?
Oh, because we're not supposed to know the Padres signed FOUR monsters ?
    Uh...it's not a secret, boys...

That would be like Doolittle's raid on Japan after Pearl Harbor, but Arte won't let that be.
In fact, I think he'd prefer SD as a landing place for him if ever it became a possibility.
