The Diamondbacks can rot in hell for laying down vs the Asstros over the weekend and helping them steal the division title. Pathetic ass franchise
that's pretty surprising that they have 3 managers on there of teams that were barely over .500. why do you get to be a manager of the year candidate for being mediocre. Dave on paper fits the bill. The Dodgers were not expected to win the division and won 100 games with a makeshift starting rotation that was injured literally the entire season
About the most credit I can give Roberts is that he gave away fewer games this year than in previous seasons. Winning the division is no longer a feat in my opinion, when you've done it numerous times and only have one pandemic-shortened championship to show for it. 85 wins would have won the division. Not taking anything away from reaching 100 again, and yes it was done with plenty of challenges in the starting rotation, but the division win has more to do with the lack of competition than it does with Dave's leadership. Right now, Atlanta is the team to beat... and I like that. Maybe it will make the team hungrier. I don't see the motivation coming from Roberts - it's not a strength of his - so hopefully this will help. Last year we were the team to beat, and we didn't make it out of the divisional series. Hoping the same happens to the Braves, and that opens the door for us.
I think there should be a minimum of 6 more teams in the playoffs in each league. Mediocrity rules. Give peace a chance.
I think the Phillies have the best chance to beat Atlanta in the NL. So go Phils Brewers pitching is scary but that lineup is really weak....Diamondbacks don't scare me at all which means they'd beat us in 4
In general my expectations are really low, and I've already redirected some of my baseball attention to football. Maybe some of that is a defense mechanism, so I don't feel as let down when they ultimately disappoint again. I actually do think we'll get past the first series, but that's it, regardless if it's Braves or Phillies. Still really disgusted with Urias, both for his actions and for what this has done to the team. Even in light of his up-and-down season, I would have had faith that he'd come around in the playoffs. The guy just doesn't get rattled. Hoping that's the case with Miller, Pepiot, and Sheehan, but they're still kids, so I wouldn't be surprised if this scene proves too big for them. Would have been nice to be able to say that Launch Lynn was not an integral component of our postseason hopes, but thanks to Urias, we can't say that.
I hope sincerely that I'm waaay wrong, it could happen they come out as fire breathing dragons, but seeing these last two series and just seeing the sleepwalking key players seem to show, I'm not expecting much. I don't know exactly what I was looking for, but they didn't look motivated for a WS run to me. Betts and Muncy look distracted to me...maybe the grind is just too much. I expect the same result of what we always get in the post.
Would love to see the Yoyers get swept with all 3 games being decided by a bad managerial decision. I know..racist.
its going to be a glorious end of the year w the kids exulting and first thrust to the air! my only worry is the Betts end of the year dive cause those were weird mvp pressure ab's he was taking especially in the atl series while Acuna smashed seemed like he was off from that point on
big blow (homo) to the brewers Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Brandon Woodruff will miss the team's NL wild-card series against the Arizona Diamondbacks due to a shoulder injury, manager Craig Counsell said Monday. "He has a right shoulder capsular injury," Counsell said. "We're working on a second opinion for Brandon over the next couple of days. Frankly, his availability for the whole season is up in the air at this point."
