    Didn't watch/listen tonight. How close was the "Hoerner fly out to deep center" to going out. Because, I swear, if Kimbrel blew another Kershaw gem, I may have burst a blood vessel in my head. Can't that guy ever pitch a drama free ninth?

    Ball was just shy of the track in dead center. Hit a little over 380.

    I had faith the pitching brain trust in this organization to fix what ails Kimbrel. They're done so well with other reclamation projects. So far, not so good with Hillbilly Craig.

    For every great pitch he makes there are three clueless ones. Great example was the final pitch of the game. It was unhittable. Earlier in the AB he threw a couple of other sliders that should have been crushed.

    Still a lot of bite in that old Kershaw dog. Really only poor game he's pitched was the Colorado game. Only recall one solidly hit ball against him last night, the double by Hoerner. Could have finished eight with a little help from his defense.

    Dodger didn't exactly wear the ball out, either. For a good portion of the game Lamb's HR was the only hard hit ball.

    As great as Trea has been he has his head scratching moments. Chasing a shitty pitch and popping up with the bases loaded preceding the Freeman two run single. Then the shot hop throw that allowed the Cubs to score their second run in the 7th. Almost got Barnes killed.

    Journeyman Drew Smyly going for the Cubbies today. Expect another five innings of shutout ball.

    On the positive side, he's hitting over .300 now, and I think that's the hitter he can be the rest of his career.

    It sucks for Lux that he's being forced into a position that's not natural for him. I can see putting him out there in a pinch, but Roberts has him there way too often. Why Alberto at 2B instead of Lux? I think there are too many infielders on this roster.
